(MAR 14) Last night at the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel, in Las Vegas,
Nevada, on the undercard, Ana Julaton, 123, won a
four-round unanimous decision over Clara De La Torre, 123, in a four rounder.
Scores 40-36, 40-36, 39-37.
De La Torre and
Julaton gave the fans an exciting four round fight. Both
fighters went toe to toe every round. De La Torre who towered over
Julaton did not use her height and reach which would have kept the
scrappy Julaton at bay. Both fighters threw a lot of punches in
every round without leaving any time to recover until the bell rang.
It was exciting to see a female fight on a Top Rank card that was
televised on Versus TV and I hope we see many more female bouts in
Las Vegas. A few years ago Las Vegas hosted many all female bouts
and they were standing room only crowds.
