(JAN 10) The Augusta Recreation and
Parks Department is pleased to announce that Augusta has been
awarded next month’s USA Boxing Southeast Coast Regional
Championships. The event will be held at May Park Gym, 622 4th
Street in Augusta, Georgia on Friday, February 22 and Saturday,
February 23 at 6:00 p.m. each night.
The event is comprised of champions from Georgia, North Carolina,
South Carolina, Florida and Florida Gold Coast women and men. This
tournament is for adult open division boxers and all winners advance
to the National USA Boxing Championships at the Olympic Training
Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado on March 9th – 16th, 2008.
Title sponsor for the event is Comcast with additional corporate
sponsors being P.C.S. Nitrogen, Dr. Robert Gambrell and Sports
Medicine Associates of Augusta, Clarion Suites Inn and Georgia
Chiropractic and Wellness Center.
