Sarah Koops Wins by a Majority Decision

 (OCT 17) Lat night at the Theater Carré, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Sara Koops, 144.5, of Amsterdam, won a six round majority decision over Tessa Van Stenus, 141, of Rosmalen, Netherlands. Belted: The First WIBF World Champion Reunites with the Sacred Strap

(OCT 15)  Stacy Prestage was the first Women’s International Boxing Federation (WIBF) world champion, but she did not have the belt that she won anymore because it was stolen. It was my mission to give her a WIBF belt. It is not the belt that was taken from her, but it is an authentic WIBF belt. It was the last belt made for Barbara Buttrick before she retired. She co-founded the WIBF with Jimmy Finn in 1993. That was the year that the WIBF sanctioned their first world title fight. (OCT 13) On Wednesday night on October 11, 2023, at the Montreal Casino, in Montreal, Canada, Femke Hermans, 153 1/2, of Dendermonde, Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium, won a ten-round majority decision over Mary Spencer, 153, of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  The two were fighting for the IBF (vacant) and IBO Super Welterweight world title bouts. (OCT 11)  On October 6, 2023,at the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame event, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at our pre-celebration day of the "Night of the Stars" event, WBAN presented three mini-WBAN Belts with a case to three prominent pioneer female boxers for the first time in the history of WBAN.  To the surprise of these three pioneers in the sport, Pat Pineda, Dar Buckskin, and Jamie Johnson, they were certainly taken off guard when I called them up the the podium area  with first stating the following the audience in the ballroom.    Full Story
