stopped. Not by a referee inside the ropes in a major boxing venue,
where, during many "big fight" nights of the last two decades of the
previous century, Camacho was a fixture, but by his family,
surrounding his bed, in the Centro Medico trauma center in the
fighter's native Puerto Rico. Four days earlier, Camacho had been

Entre Rios, Argentina, Debora Anahi Dionicius, 113½, of Villaguay,
Argentina, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Michelle Preston,
113¼, of Auckland, New Zealand. The two were fighting for the vacant
IBFsuper flyweight title. Judges scores were 100-90, 99-91, and
100-90.

won a 10-round unanimous decision over Judith Rodriguez from
Mexico. Yamaguchi defended her WBA super flyweight (115lb)

fact it was close fight.

Maryland, Tyrieshia “Baby Girl” Douglas defeated Ottawa, Canada’s
Rosie Thomas by a four round unanimous decision. The judge’s scores
were 40-36 x 3. With the win Douglas improves to 2-0, 1KO while
Thomas is now 2-1. This is an impressive victory for Douglas because
Thomas’s two wins have been over the highly decorated former

(NOV 8) ULM — Germany’s
former world boxing champion, Rola el-Halabi, is set to fulfil
her dream to box again, nearly two years after she was shot by
her stepfather in a vicious attack. The 27-year-old El-Halabi, who
won the women’s International Boxing Association (IBA) and
International Boxing Federation lightweight titles in 2009, will
climb into the ring on January 13 when she takes on Italy’s
Lucia Morelli in Ulm for the vacant IBA lightweight title.
