(NOV 11) On Thursday November 8, 2012, In Cockeysville, Maryland, Tyrieshia “Baby Girl” Douglas defeated Ottawa, Canada’s Rosie Thomas by a four round unanimous decision. The judge’s scores were 40-36 x 3. With the win Douglas improves to 2-0, 1KO while Thomas is now 2-1.

This is an impressive victory for Douglas because Thomas’s two wins have been over the highly decorated former Canadian amateur champion and current pro Nathalie Forget of Montreal.

Next up on Saturday December 1, 2012, Natalie Brown (5-2, 3KO’s) is to fight on the United Promotions card at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario; however, an opponent has yet to be named for her Welterweight contest.

Friday December 7th, 2012, at the Fraserview Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia, Sarah Pucek (4-2-1, 1KO) will be taking on Montreal’s Lucia Larcinese (5-9)in a ten round match up for the vacant Canadian Women’s Featherweight championship. Pucek has lost her last two matches and has not boxed in eight months while Larcinese won her last fight in May.

On Thursday April 4, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, in Calgary, Alberta, Michelle Nelson (3-3) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan will take on Salmon Arm, British Columbia’s Peggy Maerz (2-2-1) in a scheduled ten round bout for the CPBC Canadian Women’s Bantamweight championship. This will be the third match between the two both women have scored a victory over the other.

In their first encounter in April of 2010, Maerz won a four round split decision by scores of 39-37 x 2 for Maerz & 39-37 for Nelson. However, in April of 2012, Nelson scored a six round majority decision win over Maerz by scores of 60-54, 58-56 & 57-57. It should be noted that all three fights have taken place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Calgary.
