Casamassa Defeats Gerula to Win the WIBA Super Middleweight Title

(MARCH 31)  Last night in Harmony, Pennsylvania at the Steamfitters 449 Union Hall, on boxing event, “Brawl at the Hall”, promoted by Derek Gionta of Gionta Management, and live streamed on the Combat Sports Now website, the Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) filled a vacancy for one of their world titles. Mary Casamassa won the vacant WIBA super middleweight title over Olivia “The Predator” Gerula by a ten-round (two minutes per round) unanimous decision. The final judges’ scores were 100-90, 100-90, and 99-91. Full Story

Two WIBA World Title Fights Ended in Split Draws

(MARCH 27) The Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) mini flyweight world title fight at the Swiss Grand Hotel on March 16 in Seoul, South Korea between contenders Ryu Kyung Suh of South Korea and Riyuna Yoshikawa of Japan ended in a split draw.  The judges’ scores were 96-94 in favor of Yoshikawa, 96-95 in favor of Suh, and 95-95. Katie Taylor Could Be Set for One of Biggest Fights Of 2024

(MARCH 3) Chevelle “Fists of Steel” Hallback of Plant City, Florida returned to the ring in March 2024 since her previous fight in December 2022 and won against Yamila “La Maquinita” Reynoso of Buenos Aires, Argentina. This fight was for the vacant National Boxing Association (NBA) welterweight title. The fight was scheduled for 10 two-minute rounds. The promoter was Alessi Promotions. Mea Motu returns to ABA Stadium in April

(MAR 2) For the first time in 18 months, the IBO World Super Bantamweight champion Mea Motu will be returning to the historical ABA Stadium in Auckland on April 26.  During the recent Peach boxing event with Erin Walsh and Emma Nesbitt in the co-main event in the show, Mea Motu announced that she will be fighting at ABA Stadium against an opponent yet to be announced.
