(JULY 29) MONTREAL - Finally NABF champion and WBC # 1 contender Kim Clavel is back in a ring in Quebec for her first career fight at the IGA Stadium in Montreal on August 28th. The wait was long, the procedures laborious, the requirements numerous, but finally GYM received the approval of its sanitary protocol from both the Montreal Regional Public Health Direction and the Quebec Public Health Direction. Diane Beazley Promotes Pro-Am in hometown

(JULY 26) Retired professional boxing Diane Beazley will be promoting her first boxing event this Saturday, July 31st at the Waikato Indian Association in Hamilton. Diane Beazley is a 2009 New Zealand National Amateur Champion, made her professional boxing debut in 2019. Due to Covid that slow all boxing down, Diane decided to retire, however, she still has the itch to get back into the ring.  Full Story

Women's boxing to feature on New Zealand Stadium event undercard

(JULY 23) Eden Park aka “The Garden of Eden” will play host to a mega local show of boxing, featuring six professional boxing fights, promoted by Bruce Glozier on September 4th.  Bruce Glozier who is well known to be the big local promoter has hosted multiple major events, including two WBO World Light Heavyweight title fights with Geovana Peres at Sky City. He also hosted a major local women’s title fight between Baby Nansen and Karen Te Ruki Pasene. Now for the first time ever, Boxing will be taking place at the home of New Zealand rugby, Eden Park.  Full Story

Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano will defend her 126-pound world titles

(JULY 17) Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano will defend her 126-pound world titles on Sunday, August 29, at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, located in the city of Cleveland.  In the month of March, Serrano put away Daniela Bermudez by knockout. She then came back in the month of June, in mixed martial arts, to defeat Valentina Garcia by submission in just 60 seconds.  Full Story

Lourdes Juarez Successfully defends WBC Title

(JULY 17) Last night at the Gimnasio Municipal "Jose Neri Santos", Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Lourdes “La Pequeña Lulú” Juarez, now 32-2-0 (4KO), of Mexico city, Mexico, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Diana "la Bonita" Fernandez, now 23-4-0 (4KO), of Ciudad Juarez.  Lourdes was defending her WBC Super Flyweight title.  Final judges scores were 95-95, 96-95, and 96-94.

Massive Heavyweight upset in New Zealand

(JULY 10) A massive upset has happened last night in the small town of Putāruru, New Zealand where world-ranked boxer Alrie Meleisea lost against professional rugby player Sequita Hemingway on her debut.  Alrie Meleisea who now has the record of 5 wins 1 lose and 1 draw is ranked 3rd in the WBA and 8th in the WBC. She was ranked 3rd on Boxrec, but now is ranked 5th, behind Sequita Hemingway.   Full Story

 ​(JULY 10) Last night at the Banc of California Stadium, Los Angeles, Calif. Noako Fujioka, 111 3/4, won by a 10-round majority decision over Sulem Urbina, 112.  Fujioka successfully defended her WBA Flyweight world title; in a second female bout, Seniesa Estrada, 108, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Tenkai Tsunami, 107 1/4.  The two were fighting for the WBO Light Flyweight title.  Full Story

(JULY 7) AIBA has rescheduled the International Boxing Day from July 22 to August 27 to connect the date with the first edition of the AIBA World Boxing Championships, which was held in Havana, Cuba in 1974. AIBA increases number of weight categories for boxers​

(JULY 5) The International Boxing Association (AIBA) Board of Directors has voted in a fundamental change to the sport by amending the weight classes for youth and elite athletes at all AIBA competitions.
