(JAN 12) The Missy Junior Gloves Boxing Club was the oldest of the five boxing clubs in Texas, that allowed young ladies to box in the 70's. The coach, a devoted man to boxing, and music, Doyle Weaver, was very committed to having such a facility for these youngsters.  Weaver originally organized the Missy Junior Gloves in 1968 in Pleasant Grove. (JAN 7, 2024) Stacy Prestage was named an inductee into the Class of 2024 for the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame (FBHOF). All the inductees for the Class of 2024 were announced at the SJC Boxing Gym in Fort Myers, Florida. FBHOF President Steven J. Canton is the owner of the SJC Gym which also has the FBHOF Museum. Canton was inducted into the inaugural class of the FBHOF in 2009 as a trainer and manager. Full Story

Jennifer Miranda to Fight Iara Altamirano in  Madrid, Spain

(JAN 1, 2024) On December 2nd through 9th, 2023 the 2023 Olympic Trials took place at the Cajun Dome & Convention Center, Lafayette, Louisiana.  On December 8th, 2023 of Ring 2 was flawed. There was a timing error which would cause the RE-DO of four the contested bouts. In Ring 2 the timer was set at 2-minute rounds instead of 3-minute rounds which is standard bout time for Youth and Elite boxers.  Full Story
