(APR 30) Last night at the Coushatta Resorts in Kinder, Louisiana, Mariem Punchenella Brakache, 154, won a six-round unanimous decision over Morgan McCarley, 160.  Brakache said at the weigh-in, "If a six pounds difference should determine my win, then we are on the wrong foot." Mariem predicted that the fight would not go the distance. The Judges score were 59-54 on all cards. More

Chapita to face Nava

(APR 29) Carolina Marcela Gutiérrez Gaite, the undefeated Argentinian bantamweight, will be the next challenger for Jackie Nava's WBC super bantamweight title, after negotiations to offer a rematch to Leona Brown of the USA fell through. Marriott Show Sets Another Record

(APR 21) Besides another sold out crowd of 1,412  Thursday night at Roy Englebrecht’s Battle In The Ballroom pro boxing show at the Irvine Marriott making it eight sellouts in a row, another record was also set. For the first time in the show’s 22 year history, money was thrown into the ring after four of the six fights. “This is part of the Battle In The Ballroom magic,” said Englebrecht, as we almost always have at least one bout a show where fans applaud the boxers efforts with cash.
