(MAR 30) Debora Dionicius, 114¾, rated #4 with Boxrec, successfully defended her title against Neisi Torres, 114¾, who is rated #61 with Boxrec.  We know that Boxrec gives "Stars" for the calibre of fights on their site---this fight deserved "Four YAWNS" of boxing for being a "World Title" bout.

(MAR 23) Sonya Lamonakis won a decisive eight round decision over Tiffany Woodard to win the vacant NY State heavyweight crown in the main event of Uprising Promotions' fast paced seven bout card at the sold out Five Star Banquet Center in Long Island City on Saturday night.
Lamonakis, at 229 pounds, came to the bout with a 45 pound edge over Woodard, 184, and while that was surely a factor in the winner's controlling most of the infighting over the eight rounds.....Full Story

(MAR 23) On Friday night at the Aviator Sports Complex, Brooklyn, New York, and presented by DiBella Entertainment, Heather "The Heat" Hardy, 121, of Brooklyn, NY, did indeed "Turn up the Heat" when she fought and won an eight-round bout by a unanimous decision over Nydia Feliciano, 119. AIBA Terminates Indian Amateur Boxing Federation's Membership

(MAR 3)  The International Boxing Association (AIBA) today terminated the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation’s (IABF) membership after what it described as ‘an extensive evaluation and assessment of all issues surrounding the sport of boxing in India’. The IABF had in fact been temporarily suspended since December 2012 albeit boxers had been allowed to compete in major International competitions under the AIBA flag.
