Jordan Arena on the campus of Bowie State University, in Bowie, Maryland,  In an action-packed junior lightweight female bout featuring Tiara Brown, of Bladensburg, Maryland, facing road-warrior veteran and former IBF Featherweight world champion, Dahiana Santana, of the Dominican Republic.  In the first round the two appeared to be filling each other out, but from the second round until the end of the fourth round, it was filled with a continued action with Brown appearing to be the sharper of the two.  Santana went for many body shots throughout the fight, with the fourth round not faring well for her as she appeared to have not been punching as sharply, and she held on to Brown, where the ref gave her a standing eight-count, taking a point away from her.  When the bell rang after the fourth round, Santana did not return for the fifth round. They announced the fight as a TKO in the fourth round. The bout was scheduled for eight rounds. Full Story with Video and photos

More on Brown's Background....

Brown is a former police officer with the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C. She resigned from the force in 2018.

Brown told RingTV in an exclusive interview the following:  “To be honest, I resigned because I don’t believe the department is ready for the change that needs to be made."

She had the hope when of engendering positive change in her community. However, after the death of George Floyd at the hands of now-fired Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, Brown said, “enough was enough.”

Brown is currently signed with Dibella Entertainment.  DiBella Entertainment has a number of female boxers under contract, including Heather Hardy, Alicia Napoleon, Shelly Vincent and Amanda Serrano. Brown will also join two other Beltway Boxers –Alantez Fox and Demond Nicholson — under the DiBella banner.
