She is a Mathematics teacher, earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a minor in Physical Education at Western Sydney University, followed by a Master's degree in Teaching, during which she graduated at the top of her class. She also speaks several languages---amazing!

Belgium’s Delfine Persoon added to Women Cops Who Box!

(November 7, 2021) WBAN has just added one of the top female boxers, Belgium’s Delfine Persoon to our “Women Cops Who Box” segment. Persoon has been fighting professionally since 2009.  Delfine Persoon, one of the top female boxers in the world, has accumulated close to 50 pro fights, and world title belts in the process! (JULY 4) This is such a great day on a national holiday as the Fourth of July to announce that the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame Induction event that takes place on August 14, 2021, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been declared a "Proclamation Day" by the Honorable Carolyn G. Goodman, Mayor of the City of Las Vegas as "Women's Boxing Day."  Full Story

World boxing champion meets with the president of Brazil
November 7, 2021

(NOV 7)  Rosilete dos Santos met with the President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, last Friday (November 5th), in Castro (Brazil). The president came to Castro at the invitation of Congresswoman Aline Sleutjes.  Born in Castro and now a resident of São José dos Pinhais, also in Brazil, Rosilete became in 2008 the first woman born in Brazil to win a world boxing title, winning the World Boxing Commission belt. In 2011, she won the WIBA (Women's International Boxing Association) world title, the largest women's boxing organization on the planet. Rosilete stopped fighting in professional boxing in 2013, ending her career with 34 fights, 29 wins and five losses.  Full Story

(NOV 12) The premier celebratory event in Women’s boxing, the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, has scheduled it’s ninth event on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. This is the second consecutive year the event will be held in the country’s boxing capital and this celebration of the sport of Women’s boxing expects to continue to draw the sold out attendance that has epitomized this event since it’s inception. The 2021 Las Vegas ceremony was highlighted by city’s mayor, Carolyn Goodman, declaring August 14, “Women’s Boxing Day” in Las Vegas.

(MAY 13) COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Boxing Task Force (BTF) announced today the 49 quota places, originally to be awarded at the Road to Tokyo Americas Qualifier, that were awarded to boxers to compete in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 this summer.
