(OCT 28) Bournemouth’s Denise Castle secured the WIBA World Minimumweight Crown on Saturday, with a sensational fifth round stoppage over Sutthinee Bamrungpao in Bangkok, Thailand.  Castle, who was named the World Boxing Council (WBC) most inspirational athlete of the year in 2013 when she was the WBC Muay Thai World Champion, switched disciplines to Professional Boxing in 2014 and scored her first victory over..Full Story

(OCT 27)  On Saturday night, at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA,, promoted by King's Promotions, there was a female bout featuring Karen Dulin vs. Avril Mathie.  The four round bout ended in a unanimous decision for Mathie----with a final score of 40-36 on all the judges scorecards.  Full Story

Argentina: Debora Anahi Lopez Wins by a Decision over Natalia Alderete

 (OCT 26) Last night at the  Club Sportivo Barracas, Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina, super flyweight Debora Anahi Lopez, 113, of Buenos Aires, won a six-round unanimous decision over Natalia Alderete, 114 3/4, of Tucuman, Arizona.   Lopez remains undefeated with a 15-0-1 (1KO), and Alderete is now 3-3-0 (1KO).

Lefebvre Looking To Remain “Majestic” On October 26

(OCT 15) Segolele “Majestic” Lefebvre takes on Venezuelan Ana Maria Lozano in her fifth defense of the World Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens World Super Bantamweight title on Saturday October 26 at the Complexe Sportif Gayant in her home-town of Douai, France. 
Undefeated Lefebvre, 12-0 (1), beat Simone Da Silva for the title in March of 2017, and has since fended off challenges from Naroyuki Koasicha, former world champions Gabriela Bouvier and Yesica Patricia Marcos, and Laura Soledad Griffa.  Full Story

(OCT 9) After a lifetime of service to the sport of boxing, Barbara Buttrick has finally decided to hang up her gloves. Coming up to her 90th birthday on December 3rd Barbara believes it is time to call it a day. Since the sad passing of her longtime business partner Jurgen Lutz in June, Barbara has given much consideration to her position as President of the WIBF and GBU. Hence, she has decided to hand over full control of both organizations to Jurgen’s close friend and successor Rainer Gottwald of Germany.  Full Story

Estelle Mossely Successfully defends her IBO Title, winning by Decision over Ana Romina Guichapani

(OCT 6) Last night at the Salle du Casino, Enghien, in France, Estelle Mossely, 135, of Bagnolet, Seine-Saint-Denis, France, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Ana Romina Guichapani, 132 1/4, of Santa Cruz, Argentina. (OCT 5) Another fine win for Ireland at today's 2019 AIBA Women's World's in Ulan-Ude, Siberia when Cill na Martra's Christina Desmond gained a split decision win over England star Sandy Ryan from Derby.
The Rebel southpaw, whose backhand repeatedly stung the Derby orthodox, won the first round on the unofficial cards, and Ryan, benefiting from a surprise public warning for slapping, claimed the second.  Full Story

Geovana Peres Retains World title with the first TKO of her Career

(OCT 5) New Zealand Boxer Geovana Peres defended her WBO Light Heavyweight title against Canadian Claire Hafner, in dominating fashion. From the beginning, Geovana controlled the fight with her hands speed, combination and power. Things started becoming difficult for Caire when she received a cut in the first round above her left eye from a punch. (OCT 4) FLINT, Mich. – October 4, 2019 – The Claressa Shields vs. Ivana Habazin WBO and WBC 154-pound world title fight has been called off following an altercation prior to Friday’s official weigh-in that resulted in an injury to Habazin’s trainer, James Ali Bashir. (OCT 4) PHILADELPHIA, PA----- In recognition and celebration of Gibbs’ legendary and inspirational athletic career, a group of sports historians from the Philadelphia area is planning a 6 FOOT BRONZE STATUE of Gibbs to be unveiled in 2020. (OCT 3) AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships first bouts took place in FSK-Arena in Ulan Ude, Russia. At Day 1 there were no sensations, but couple unexpected and exciting results.  First seeded light flyweight boxer Hyang Mi Kim (PRK) meets with Risa Nakata of Japan, who took the first RSC in a second round against Lethabo Modukanele (BOT). Despite the first sustainable win Japan boxer will have tough challenge against Kim who are the bronze medalist of the last edition of AIBA World Boxing Championships. Full Story
