Lani Daniels back on top of the world

(APR 30) After two and a half years of being away from the boxing
ring, Lani Daniels made her in-ring return against professional rugby
player turned professional boxer, Sequita Hemingway. Lani Daniels
despite being inactive, is still ranked 9th in the WBA took on Sequita
Hemingway who is well known for her win over WBC and WBA ranked boxer
Alrie Melesiea. Even though she has not fought in a long time, she made
it look like she was only in the ring yesterday with the performance she
gave.

it was announced by DAZN, that one of the biggest fights on the horizon
would take place on April 30, 2022, at the Madison Square Garden, in New
York in the mainliner for the first time in History, between Katie

(APR 26) This last weekend, I had the opportunity to fly out to
Charlotte, North Carolina to cover the Carolinas Boxing Hall of Fame.
I had a great time, and put together a report with photos of my time at the
event. The venue was at the Sheraton Charlotte Airport Hotel.
The event was a sold-out affair and it was wonderful covering these elite
inductees.

(APRIL 25) After being postponed twice, the New Zealand national
boxing championships have finally come, with Auckland Boxing Association
(ABA) taking home the most medals and golds. This is the second
year in a row that the National Championships were postponed to the
following year due to Covid; however, it was essential for these
Championships to go on as athletes needed to be selected for the
commonwealth games. The New Zealand team's nominations for the
commonwealth games have an 11th of May deadline.

(APR 17) Last night at the Manchester Arena, in Manchester, Alycia
Baumgardner, now 12-1-0 (7KO), of Bingham Farm, Michigan won a ten-round
unanimous decision over Edith Soledad Matthysse, 17-12-1 (1KO), of
Argentina. The two were fighting for the WBC and IBO Super
Featherweight titles. Scores were 100-90 on all cards.

Rainbow Boxing Closes after a year.

(APR 16) President of the Rainbow Boxing New Zealand non-profit
organization Benjamin Thomas Watt has confirmed that the organization's
board has voted unanimously to close Rainbow Boxing NZ. In October
2019, it was announced that the inaugural World Gay Boxing Championships
would happen in Sydney in 2023. Benjamin Watt, a gay boxing judge, set
out to create his own tournament to prepare New Zealand LGBTIQ+ boxers
to take on the world at the tournament. “I set out to create Rainbow
Gloves so that we would prepare LGBT boxers to have their first fight
and help qualify boxers for the tournament itself.”

worldwide. There was quite a bit of action over the weekend, from
Argentina to the United States. IN one card there was three female
bouts on the card, that featured Savannah Marshall who demolished her
