This past weekend marked a significant moment in women's boxing, and many female
boxers received the opportunity on some of the boxing cards worldwide. At this time
women's boxing is definitely on fire and it is such a great thing to see going
on in the sport in 2025.
On July 11-13, 2025, boxing fans were treated to a great lineup of
female bouts worldwide. One particularly historic event took place at
Madison Square Garden in New York, where the main card featured an trilogy fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano. This
all-female card
not only captivated audiences around the globe televised on Netflix---but is
further proof that women's boxing is here to stay!
It all began on Friday, July 11th, with the following cards that took place.

A History-first took place at the Madison Square Gardens, in New York featuring
eight-female bouts on the card. The mainliner featured the Trilogy of the
Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano, and was promoted by MVP Promotions and four of
the female bouts was televised on NetFlix. More details on three stories

In Argentina, at the Gimnasio Municipal Nº 1, in Trelew,
Edith Soledad Matthysse, 128 3/4, of Trelew, Chubut, Argentina, won a third
round TKO over Lilian Dolores Silva, 129 1/2, of Rosario Argentina. The
bout was scheduled for eight rounds.
At the Baluan Sholak Sports
Palace, in Almaty, Elina Bazarova, making her pro debut won by a four-round unanimous decision
over Sitora Shogdarova, 118 1/4. Judges scores were 36-40 on all cards.
In the venue at Sala Arena-Casino Admiral, San
Roque,
Victoria Emma Lomax won a six-rounder by points over Sherie Barnes. Score of the
fight was 60-54.
On Saturday night, July 12th, more action took place...
In Italy at the Biella, Alessia
Vitanza, of Sacrofano, Lazio, Italy, won a ten-round unanimous decision over
Martina Caruso, of Lombardia, Italy. The two were fighting for the Federazione
Pugilistica Italiana Featherweight title. Venjacob's performance
continues to showcase her rising prowess in the sport,
setting her up for more high-profile fights in the future. Final judges scores were 94-97, 94-96,
and 94-96.
With two female matches featured on this card at the Embassy Suites Conference Center,
in Olath,
Kaitlin LaVigne, 160 1/2, of Overland Park, Kansas, won an eight-round majority
decision over Sonya Dreiling, 157 3/4, of Albertville, Alabama. Final
judges scores were 76-76, 78-74, and 77-75. In a second female bout, Natalia
Castaneda, 117, of Kansas City, Missouri, won a four-round bout over Kedra
Bradley, 112 1/2, of Virginia.
In Mexico in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, in
another card featuring two female bouts,
Marcela Georgina Sanchez Riveron, 110, making her pro debut and a four-round
split draw with Yessica Cruz Perez, 110. Final judges scores were 36-40, 38-38,
and 40-36. As women's boxing gains traction, these up-and-coming boxers will be
part of building the sport's future.
In a second female bout, Carolina Alvarez Sanchez, 125 1/2,
raising her record to 5-0-0 (0KO) defeating by a four-round unanimous decision over
Yaretzi Yocabet Najera Sanchez,125 3/4. Final judges scores were 40--36 on
all cards.
In Spain, at the Polideportivo Almanjayar,
Granada,
Sandra Munoz, 114 3/4, of Andalucía, Spain, won a six-rounder by points over
Luisana Ascanio, 114, of Panama City, Panama.
Lastly on Sunday July 13th is the following:
At the Next Generation Fight Club, Landau, Rheinland-Pfalz, Landau,
Germany, Lena Venjacob, now 7-0-0 (6KO), of Guetersloh, Nordrhein-Westfalen,
Germany, 130 1/4, won by a second round 1:12, TKO over Yasmin Al
Sayed, now 0-2-0, of Germany. The bout was scheduled for six rounds.
In Thailand, at the Maria Luz Peral, Katsara Jatpukdee, 108 3/4, now 10-10-1, of Thailand, won by a third round TKO
over Kanyarat Nunoi, 113, of Thailand, now 9-9-3 (7KO).
At the Sequals, Friuli-Venezia
Giulia, Vittoria Parigi Bini, now 6-1-1 (1KO) had a 10-round split draw with
Maria Luz Peral, now 7-0-1 (0KO), of Cantabria, Spain. Final judges scores
were 97-93, 94-96, and 95-95. The two were fighting for the EBU European
Minimum (vacant) belt.
Women’s boxing is undeniably on fire right now. With ever-growing support,
increased visibility, and higher stakes.
