(FEB 3) WBAN has received additional
information on the upcoming boxing event that will take place on
February 22, 2007, at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino, in Lemoore,
California.
In one women's bout, Canadian
Jessica Rakoczy,
who fights out of Las Vegas, will be fighting Kelli
Cofer, in a world title bout, for an
interim title with the WBC. In a second title bout,
Carina
Moreno, will face
Suszannah Warner
for the WBC’s flyweight belt. Also,
Hollie
Dunaway will
be fighting in an eight round bout, opponent has not been named.
Christian Printup, the Palace’s director of entertainment, has
continued to support women’s boxing on his cardds, and said, “We
made a commitment to it way back when and we've never wavered. A lot
of promoters view women's boxing as a niche, but I'm not one of
them. They deserve the recognition and the pay that they receive."
The event will have eleven bouts on the card, that will also feature
Malik Scott, Malcolm Tann, and Teke Oruh, Jeffrey Brownfield, and
much more.
