LAS VEGAS, NV (February 24, 2024) – The International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame “Night of the Stars II” is returning to Las Vegas, Nevada in their eleventh year of honoring and inducting the top Elite Athletes and those who work outside the ring on April 4-5, 2025, at our two-day event at the Orleans Hotel & Casino!

Our IWBHF 2025 event will include legendary fighters who have paved the way for future generations, to dedication of others outside of the ring in their accomplishments in the sport, and more. Our elite IWBHF class of 2025 includes the following: Jackie Nava, retired multi-world champion, Mexico; Vaia Zaganas, retired multi-world champion, Canada, Kina Malpartida, retired multi-world champion, defending her belt five times, Peru, living in the USA: Jennifer Han, retired world champion, USA; Shelly Vincent, retired multi-world champion, USA; Helga Risoy, pre-modern boxer, 1990’s, Norway; Diana Prazak, retired multi-world champion, Australia, lives in USA; Kara Ro, retired world champion, Canada; Frida Wallberg, retired world champion, Sweden; Kathy Williams, retired world champion, Canada; Yvonne Caples, retired world champion, India, lives in USA; Jolene Blackshear, retired world champion, USA; Yessica Chavez, retired world champion, Mexico; Stephanie Jaramillo, pre-modern boxer, pre 2004, USA; Jill Matthews, retired multi-world champion, pre-modern boxer 1990’s, USA; Carlette Ewell, retired multi-world champion, USA; Yvonne Barkley, Pioneer female boxer from the 1970s-1980s, USA; Linda Platt, pioneer, one of the first females as a high-profile photographer; and Don King and Diane Fischer, long-time boxing promoters, USA. Lastly, our 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient is Daisy Lang, of Bulgaria!  Daisy was inducted into the IWBHF in 2017.  [Feature stories to come soon on all of the Inductees and Special Award recipients.]

The Induction ceremony/Dinner event will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in the Mardi-Gra Ballroom, where we will celebrate our IWBHF Inductees, and some special award recipients, and on our Pre-celebration that will take place on Friday, April 4, 2025, we celebrate our special award recipients that are the “Women Cops Who Box” and special awards for our pioneer trailblazers.

For more details....in the first day of our event, Friday, on April 4, 2025, in the Salon Ballroom from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. is a day filled with honoring and celebrating our Special Award Recipients.  We will be honoring our first responders, "WOMEN COPS WHO BOX", that include six (6) female boxers that have worked in law enforcement either presently or in the past.  The Special Award Recipients are the following: Melissa Cooper, Alex Love, Tracy Byrd, Stephanie Han, Terri Moss, Ann Marie Carrizales, and Kathy Williams

These female boxers have not only excelled in their careers as police officers, but also displayed immense talent and determination in the boxing ring. They serve as an inspiration to all, proving that strength comes in many forms. Through their actions, they have shattered stereotypes and paved the way for future generations of female athletes in law enforcement.
 

We are also excited to honor four very unique female trailblazers in our pre-celebration day as Sue TL Fox, said, "Pioneers are never forgotten."

Our four (4) Trailblazers who are our Special Award Recipients is Margaret McGregor; Patricia Trejo; Patricia Orr; and Leaping Lena! Every one of our Pioneer Trailblazers have all made a distinct mark in the history of women's boxing---and every one of our 2025 Trailblazer's have completely unique backgrounds as a pioneer.  

These Special Award Recipients not only achieved greatness in the ring and/or out of the ring, but also served as inspirations and role models to countless aspiring fighters.

Vice-President Wanda Countiss said, “I would like to say, congratulations to all inductees for 2025.” It is an honor to be apart of your journey. See you all in April 2025."

We look forward to celebrating these incredible individuals and families at our 2025 IWBHF event, where their legacies will be forever enshrined in boxing history.

The 2025 IWBHF event promises to be a momentous occasion, celebrating the enduring impact of these individuals and families on the sport we love. Join us as we pay tribute to their extraordinary achievements and honor their lasting contributions to the world of boxing.

In addition, living up to the "Night of the Stars II" the event will feature a star-studded lineup of boxing royalty, with past inductees and current champions expected to attend. It will be an opportunity for fans and fellow athletes to come together and show their support for these trailblazers.

About the IWBHF [Review of last years event - video]
At the end of 2013, WBAN announced formative steps towards establishing the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame. The history-first hall of fame that was founded by Sue TL Fox, had their first Inaugural Induction Ceremony on July 10, 2014, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The homebase for the IWBHF is now in Las Vegas, Nevada, as of 2021, and this will be the IWBHF's fourth year of their event that is taking place at the Orleans Hotel & Casino. As of 2025 the IWBHF now have 132 Inductees, that include female boxers, and those who contributed substantially in the sport of women’s boxing outside the ring.
