Irish boxing legend and global sports trailblazer Katie Taylor (26-1, 6 KOs) brought the curtain down on her historic in-ring professional career tonight, securing a masterful unanimous decision victory over France's Flora Pili (12-1) in front of a record-breaking, sold-out crowd of over 80,000 fans at Dublin’s historic Croke Park. The victory solidifies Taylor's legacy as one of the greatest athletes in boxing history. Entering the ring at 139.6 lbs, Taylor successfully added the vacant WBC super lightweight title to her existing WBO, WBA, and IBF light-welterweight crowns, defeating Pili (139.9 lbs) to cement her status as an undisputed world champion for a historic third time.
