OCTOBER 2020

On October 31, 2020 - at the Wembley Arena, Wembley, in London, United Kingdom, super bantamweight Amy Timlin, 120½, of Southam, Warwickshire, United Kingdom,  had a ten-round split decision with Carly Skelly, 119½,  of Liverpool, London.  Final judges scores were 97-96, 95-95, and 95-96.  The two were fighting for the vacant Commonwealth Super Bantamweight title. 

October 31, 2020 - The Bubble, MGM Hotel & Resort, Las Vegas, Nevad
a, Mikaela Mayer, 129¾, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Ewa Brodnicka, 130¼, with the two fighting for the vacant WBO World Super Featherweight title.

On Saturday, October 31st (Halloween), the following results took place worldwide.  In a second female bout, middleweight Savannah Marshall, 159¼, of Hartlepool, United Kingdom, stopped  Hannah Rankin, 158¼, of Glasgow, Scotland, UK in the seventh round by TKO, in a scheduled ten-round bout.  The two were fighting for the vacant WBO Middleweight title. 

In a third female bout on the undercard, making her pro debut Ramla Ali,  124¾, of London, United Kingdom, won a six-rounder by points over Eva Hubmayer, 128½.   Final judges score 60-54.

October 30, 2020 - at the Club Atletico, Social y Deportivo Camioneros, in  Luis Guillon, Buenos Aires, Argentina, in a battle of the welterweights , Yamila Abellaneda, 137¾, won a six-round unanimous decision over Sofia "La Lobita" Rodriguez,  142¼, 2-4-0.  Final judges scores were 59½-55½, 58½-57, and 58-56.  Both female boxers fight out of Buenos Aires. 

October 30, 2020 - In Mexico, at the  Salon Marbet Plus, in Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl, "La Roca" Ibeth Zamora Silva, 113, of Mexico, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Edith "La Pantera" Flores, 112, of Mexico.   Silva improved her record to 31-6-0 (12KO), and Flores is now 7-15-0 (1KO).

October 30, 2020 -  In the United States, at the Fantasy Springs Casino, in Indio, California, flyweights Marlen Esparza, 111¾, of Houston, Texas, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Sulem Urbina,   111½, of Phoenix, Arizona.  Final judges scores were 80-72, 8-072, and 78-74.  Esparza improved her record to 8-1 (1KO), and Urbina experienced her first loss as a professional and is now 12-1-0 (2KO).

October 17, 2020 - CPI Box Club, Donauwoerth
Ema Kozin won by a ten-round unanimous decision over Chris Namus. The two were fighting for the Interim WBC Middleweight title, the WBF Middle, and the WIBA Middle.  Full Story

October 17, 2020 - CPI Box Club, Donauwoerth, Bayern, Germany
Katelynn Phelan won by a fifth round RTD over Jessica Schadko. The two were fighting for the vacant youth WBC Welterweight title, vacant WBF Welterweight title, and vacant WIBA Welterweight title.

October 17, 2020 - East of England Arena, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom
Featherweight Ellie Scotney, pro debut, 125 lbs., won by points in a six-rounder over Bec Connolly, 125.

October 17, 2020 - Klipspruit Sport Centre, Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa
Super Bantamweight Ellen Simwaka, 120¾, of Lilongwe, Malawi, won by a third round TKO over Melissa Miller, 120½, of Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa.  The bout was scheduled for six rounds.

October 16, 2020 - Plaza de Toros, Moralzarzal, Comunidad de Madrid, Spain
Minimum Joana Pastrana, 104 3/4, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Catalina Diaz, 104 1/4. The two were fighting for the vacant EBU Minimum Title.

October 10, 2020 - Vodafone Events Centre, Manukau City, New Zealand
Super Light Baby Nansen, won by a RTD in the seventh round over Karen Te Ruki Pasene.  The bout was scheduled for eight rounds.

October 9, 2020 -  Roosdaal, Vlaams Brabant, Belgium
Femke Hermans,
159¾,  of Vlaams Brabant, Belgium, won by a third level TKO over Borislava Goranova, 157½, in a scheduled six round bout.

October 9, 2020 - Salle Edgar-Quinet, Calais, Pas-de-Calais, France
Light flyweight Cassandra Crevecoeur, 107¾, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Melanie Mercier,  106¾.  The two were fighting for the vacant France Light Flyweight title.

October 9, 2020 - Palais des Sports Maurice Thorez, Vitry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne, France
Bantamweight Johanna Wonyou, 114¾, pro debut, won a four-round unanimous decision over Snezana Siljkovic, 116.

October 4, 2020 - Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom
Super lightweight Chantelle Cameron, 137.5, of Northamptonshire, United Kingdom, now 13-0-0 (7KO), won a ten-round unanimous decision over Adriana dos Santos Araujo, 145 3/4, of Sao Paulo, Brazil.  The two were fighting for the vacant WBC Super Lightweight title.  Araujo failed to make weight for the bout, and the bout went ahead with Cameron winning the title. 

October 3, 2020 - Roman Amphitheatre, Plovdiv, Bulgaria
Super featherweight Joana Nwamerue, 131¾, of Sofia, Bulgaria, won a four-round split decision over Sheila Martinez, 131¾, of Madrid, Spain.  Final judges scores were 38-37, 37-39, and 37-38.
