Junior welterweight Svetlana Kulakova won a 10-round unanimous decision over Judy Waguthii.  The two were fighting for an interim WBA title.

Strawweight Guadalupe Ramirez won a six-round unanimous decision over Ana Liera, pro debut. In another female bout on the card, Yoali Martinez won by a third round TKO over Arlette Martinez. The bout was scheduled for four rounds.

August 24, 2013 - Warsteiner Hockeypark, Moenchengladbach, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany
Ina Menzer of Germany won a 10-round unanimous decision over  Goda Dailydaite. Judges scores, 100-88, 100-88, and 97-92.  The two were fighting for a WBF, WIBA and WIBF Featherweight title.

August 23, 2013 - Kursaal, Oostende, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium
Delfine Persoon, 25-1-0 (11KO),won by a second round TKO over Galina Gumliiska, 9-25-1 (1KO), in a scheduled eight round bout.  As WBAN said it was a "Yawn" fight and a predictable outcome.  Gumliiska has now lost 15 fights out of the last 16 fights she has fought in.

Super featherweight Lizbeth Crespo, 127¾, won a six-round unanimous decision over Maria Quiroga,  125¾.

Flyweight Brenda Flores, 111, won a four-round unanimous decision over Diana Gonzalez, 111.

Su-Yun Hong won over Mari Ando from Japan by split decision.

Celina Salazar,122.6, of San Antonio, Texas, improved her record to 5-1-2 (1KO), when she defeated Ana Julaton, 12-4-1 (2KO), of Daly City, by a 10-round unanimous decision. In a second female bout for the WBC youth flyweight title, Arely Valente won by a majority decision over Yesenia Gomez.  Final judges scores were 96-96, 92-98, 92-98.

Bantamweight Gretchen Abaniel TKO'd Fahpratan Looksaikongdin in the first round of a scheduled six round bout.

Super bantamweight Simone Da Silva Duarte won by a third round TKO over Silvia Beatriz Lescano. The fight was scheduled for 10 rounds.

August 16, 2013 - Gimnasio Municipal Nº 1, Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut, Argentina
Super featherweight Claudia Lopez, 127¾, won by a fourth round [1:52] TKO over Diana Ayala,129¾. The two were fighting a 10-rounder for the vacant IBF super featherweight title.

August 16, 2013 - Chumash Casino, in Santa Ynez, California
Maria [Maggie] Suarez, raised her record to 6-0-1, when she won by a six round decision over Gloria "La Bombita" Salas [Salazar].  WBAN was told that Salas lost by a close decision. At the scales both boxers came in at 111.  Scores: 58-56, 58-56 & 59-55. *

Bantamweight Selene Lopez,  114¾, of Mexico, won by a second round KO over Dulce Galaviz, 113, pro debut, from Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico.

Heavyweight Sonya Lamonakis, of New York,  now 8-1-2 won a six-round unanimous decision over Tanzee Daniel on a Dibella's Broadway Boxing series.  At the scales  Lamonakis weighed in at 215, and Daniel, 240. *

Jessica Nery Plata, now 11-0-0 (2KO), won a 10-round unanimous decision over Jasseth Noriega, now 16-2-1, Plata was defending her WBC light flyweight youth title.  

August 10, 2013 - Crescent City Boxing Gym, New Orleans, Louisiana In an action-packed female bout middleweight Latasha Burton, of Independence, Louisiana, won in a rematch against Beverly Darby, of Mississippi. Burton improved her record to 2-0, with Darby now 0-2-0. Source/Darby  *

Light welterweight Jane Kavulani won by a fourth round TKO in a scheduled four rounder against Nicholine Achieng.

August 10, 2013 - Plaza de Toros, Huamantla, Tlaxcala, Mexico
Strawweight Susana Perez, 103½, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Anahi Torres, 104¼.  The two were fighting for the WBC Youth strawweight title.   In a second female bout,  Alejandra Lopez, making her pro debut was scheduled to fight Noemi Aldama.  WBAN has not received the results for this fight at this time. 

August 10, 2013 - Megapolis Convention Center, Panama City, Panama
Ogleidis Suarez, 126, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Liliana Palmera, 123¾. Final judges scores were 99-91, 99-91, and 97-93.  The two were fighting for the WBC Featherweight title.

August 9, 2013 - Santa Rosa, Argentina
 Last night at the Club Estudiantes, Santa Rosa, La Pampa, Argentina, Monica Acosta, 139¾, now 19-0-0 (5KO),of Santa Rosa STOPPED  Belinda Laracuente, 135¼, 26-28-3 (9KO), in the seventh round of a 10 round bout.

Flyweight Ayana Miyasaka, 110¼,  won her pro debut by a first round TKO over Ozora Hikaru, 110, also making her pro debut in a four-rounder.

Jennifer Retzke, 145¾, had a 10-round majority draw with Florence Muthoni,145½. The two were fighting for the vacant IBO welterweight title.  Final judges scores were 95-95, 95-95, and 94-96. *

August 3, 2013 - Whitehall Athletic Club, Whitehall, New York
As part of a co-main event, Melissa “Little Miss Tyson” St Vil, 142, Brooklyn, NY, won the International Women’s Boxing Federation (IWBF) welterweight title pounding out a ten-round unanimous decision over Sarah “The Knockout” Kuhn, 143, Albany, NY.  The familiar boxing phrase, “Speed kills” has always been a constant in the sport and held true last night as St. Vil, who has a track & field background employed supreme foot speed moving in and out of Kuhn’s range with a two-fisted attack. After the fourth round, St. Vil became fatigued reducing her movement and punch volume allowing Kuhn to rally winning the fifth and sixth rounds by plowing forward behind her jab and right cross.  Full report by Mark A. Not much more than two years ago she was in hospital with gunshot wounds in hands, knees and feet following an attack from her estranged stepfather just minutes before a world title fight, and no one expected her to ever lace on the gloves again. Now she is the World Boxing Federation Women's World Light Welterweight Champion! The Comeback story of Rola El Halabi continues to grow, and it peaked when she defeated Hungarian Dalia Vasarhelyi at the Laubach Arena in Laubach, Germany to lift the WBF World title left vacant when superstar Holly Holm recently retired.    Full Story by WBF

In a four round bantamweight bout, debuting Marcia Agripino won a unanimous decision over Vanesa Greco.*

In a featherweight four rounder, debuting Maia Stevenson managed to get a split decision draw with Heather Clark.

Light middleweight Liz Butler, 153½,  won by a second round TKO over Nancy Kadiake, 142¾.

Strawweight Jessebelle Pagaduan won a third round TKO [1:38] over Carleans Rivas, 105.

July 26, 2013 -  In San Vicente, Argentina
Carolina Raquel Duer won the vacant WBO bantamweight title with a ten round unanimous decision over Mayra Alexandra Gomez.  In a second eight round bantamweight bout, Carolina Rodriquez remained undefeated at 8-0 with a unanimous decision over Forencia Roxana Canteros 3-4-1.  Full Video of Fight

July 26, 2013 -  Saratoga City Center in Saratoga Springs, NY
“Lethal” Lindsay Garbatt, 125, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, battled fan-favorite, Jackie “The Force” Trivilino, 126, Plattsburgh, NY, over eight hotly contested rounds at Ares Promotions Fight Night XI.   Dispensing with her usual swarming style, Trivilino opened the show boxing from long range keeping her physically stronger opponent at a comfortable distance while initiating the exchanges by firing off punches in volume. Trivilino was successful with this tactic in the first stanza while Garbatt mostly concentrated on keeping her defense tight while finding her timing after nearly a year hiatus from the ring.  Full Story by Mark A. Jolene Blackshear, 106, now 8-3-0 (3KO),  won an eight-round split decision over Sindy Amador, 107, 10-1-0 (1KO),  in an eight round bout for the WIBA Flyweight title. This was Amador's first loss as a pro to this tough veteran boxer Blackshear.  Scores: 74-76 | 76-74 | 76-74

Tomomi Takano won over Yokkhao Loeicitygym from Thai by unanimous decision. The final judge scores were 39-37, 40-36, 40-36

Anabel Ortiz, 27 years old, now 12-3-0 (2KO), of Tepic, Mexico, won a 10-round split decision over previously undefeated Etsuko Tada, 32 years old, now 12-1-2 (2KO), of Kyoto, Japan.  Tada was defending her WBA [105 lb.] strawweight belt.   In a second, female bout, Bantamweight Marina Isami won her first pro bout, when she defeated pro debuter Chisa Tanaka.  Isami won by a four-round unanimous decision.  Photos

July 22, 2013 - Korakuen Hall, in Tokyo, Japan
35-year old Naomi Yamaguchi, of Tokyo,  faced 31-year old Chuthaporn Pradissan, [Ploysuay Sakrungruang] of Bangkok, Thailand, in an super flyweight eight rounder non-title bout.  Yamaguchi was originally tentatively fighting Daniela Bermudez,  but according to our sources,  the contracts for a unification title failed in the negotiations.  In Yamaguchi's fight with Pradissan, Yamaguchi won by a first round [1:56] KO over Pradissan.  In the semi-final of this event, 37-year old Kayoko Ebata, of Tokyo,  won over 26-year old Cho-Rong Son, of Seongnam City, South Korea, by a unanimous decision, and Ebata won the belt that was vacant, and became the new OPBF flyweight champion. Featherweight Melanie Zwecker won a four-rounder by points over pro debuter Avira Betti.

Bantamweight Gabriella Roman, of Hungary, won by a first round TKO over Dorina Kapler, pro debuter, of Hungary.

Super featherweight 27 year old Lucia Osegueda, now 2-0, won a four-round unanimous decision over Teresa Chacon, pro debut. Final judges scores were 40-36.

Tyrieshia Douglas, 110, now 3-0-0, a native of Washington D.C.  won a four-round unanimous decision over Marisol Miranda, 112.5, of Florida.  We were told that Douglas had scored a knockdown in the third round, but that Miranda stayed in the fight. 

July 20, 2013 -  Paysandú, Uruguay
Scheduled for ten rounds for the WBA lightweight title, Cecilia Comunales TKO'd  Marisol Reyes at 0:48 of the first round.

July 19, 2013   Racing Club, in Buenos Aires, Argentina
Yesica Bopp, now 25-1-0 (11KO), of Buenos Aires, Argentina,  successfully defended her two flyweight (WBO and WBA) world titles when she defeated Anastasia Toktaulova, now 14-12-0 (2KO),  of Leesburg, Florida, by a 10-round unanimous decision.  

July 19, 2013 - Molambo, Columbia
Featherweights Diana Ayala,  126, and Glenis Varona, 125¼, fought to a six round points draw. Also, in a super flyweight six rounder, Bantamweight Olga Julio, 115, had no trouble dispatching Jennifer Perez, 114, with a third round TKO.

Featherweight Sarah Achieng  [1:36] TKO'd winless Susan Andeso, in the second round of a scheduled four round bout.

In a welterweight Gina Chamie, 141½,  remained undefeated with a first round TKO of Gabriella Bohoni, 149½.  The fight was scheduled for six rounds.

Super bantamweight Kathina Catron, 121, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma [DOB/10-14-1985], won by a first round TKO over Tiffany Alexander, 122, [DOB/1980-09-24].

Brenda Flores, 112, now 4-1-0 (1KO), of Tijuana, won a four-round unanimous decision over Carol Castro (Madrid), 111¼, of Sonora, Mexico. Final judges scores were 40-36 on all cards.

Luiciel Quiel, 110, won by a DQ, fourth round over Zuliana Mendoza, 111. The fight was scheduled for six rounds.

Light Middleweight Rita Kenessey won by a second round TKO over Beata Salgo, making her pro debut. The fight was scheduled for four rounds.

Maureen Shea, now 21-2-0 (11KO), of Bronx, New York, won a four-round unanimous decision over Silvia Jimenez, now 5-2-0 (4KO), of Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico.

July 13, 2013 - Club Defensores de Villa Lujan, San Miguel, Tucuman, Argentina
Marcela Acuna, of Argentina, 125.5, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Melissa "Huracan" Hernandez, 124 1/4, of Miami Beach, Florida, USA. The two were fighting for the WBO female featherweight title eliminator.

Christina Ruiz, 118,  won a 10-round unanimous decision over Christina "Mandy" Fuentes, 115¾. Scores: 93-97, 94-96, and 93-97.  Ruiz won the IFBA Bantamweight title.  Video of fight

Noemi Bosques, now 2-0-1, won a four-round unanimous decision over Monica Flores, now 3-1. At the weight-in Bosques came in at 111.2,

Mariana "Barbie" Juarez, 115,  won the WBC Flyweight title against Riyo Togo,113¾  of Japan, who had just recently TKO'd her in their first fight in April. Scores: 98-92,  97-93, and 98-93.

July 13, 2013- Energie Verbund-Arena, Dresden, Sachsen, Germany, Christina Hammer, 157, 15-0-0 (7KO), of Dortmund, su                                                               ccessfully defeated her WBF and WBO Middleweight titles against  Mikaela Lauren, 155¾, 19-3-0 (7KO), of Stockholm, Sweden. Scores/ 92-98, 90-100, 91-99.

July 12, 2013 -  Korakuen Hall, in Tokyo, Japan
OPBF light flyweight champion Naoko Shibata defeated Mika Oda by an eight-round unanimous decision.  The final judges scores were 77-75. 78-74, and 78-74.  WBAN would like to give a "Shout Out" to Samart of Japan, who has keep boxing fans updated on the boxing action in Japan!
