October 30, 2008 - Ogden Foundation Charity Boxing Event at the Martin’s Valley Mansion in Hunt Valley, MD.
Katy Klinefelter, 133,  improved to 2-0 on Thursday night with an easy four round decision win over pro debuting Jasica Rojo, 130,  of Tucson, Arizona. The 21 year old Iowa City native used sharp right hands and a steady jab throughout the fight against the game Rojo in the co-main event of the Jonathan Ogden Foundation Charity Boxing show.  Final judges scores were 40-36 on all cards. Said Klinefelter, “I was very happy with my performance. We’ve worked on a lot of new things in the gym, especially my defense and that really worked  well for me tonight.” Klinefelter is expected to be back in the ring in the near future with details to be announced shortly. Super bantamweight Sarah Pucek won a four-round unanimous decision over Clara De La Torre.

October 25, 2008 -  Weser -Ems-Halle, Oldenburg, Germany
Welterweight Cecilia Braekhus,
143¾, remains undefeated when she won an eight-round unanimous decision over Borislava Goranova, 146¾.  Final judges scores 80-70,  80-70, and  80-71.[Logged into master search]

At the boxing event dubbed as the “Halloween Havoc, Olivia “The Predator” Gerula, 131.5, won by a fourth round TKO over Monique Duval, 133. She narrowly escaped the third, and unwilling to continue in the fifth. [Logged into master search]

October 24, 2008 - Milan, Italy
Flyweight Simona Galassi, 111¼, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Stefania Bianchini, 111¼.  The two were fighting for the WBC flyweight world title.  [Logged into master search]

October 23, 2008- Tachi Palace Casino, Lemoore, CA
Carina "La Reina" Moreno, 104.5,  retains her WBC and WIBA strawweight titles with a TKO victory over a game Jodi Esquibel, 104.5. In the opening round, Esquibel used her lateral movement to escape the pressure of Moreno. Making adjustments, Moreno came into the second round with a game plan that saw her throw more overhand rights. But it was a powerful straight right hand that landed flush on the nose of Esquibel that changed the fight for good. Esquibel would end the round with blood oozing from her nostrils. For the rest of the bout, Moreno would land combinations with pin point accuracy, with the overhand right being the most effective. The referee would halt the action in the middle of the rounds as blood continued to pour out the nose of Esquibel. At 1:36 of the ninth round, the referee put an end to the thumping Esquibel (5-3-1, 2 KO's) was taking as Moreno won her twelfth fight in a row improving to (20-1, 6 KO's).  By Mario Serrano, Publicist

Yesica Patricia Marcos, 119¾, won a four-round unanimous decision over Natalia del Pilat Burga, 118½. Final judges score were 40-36½, 40-36½, and 39½-38½.

October 17, 2008 - The Palace, Auburn Hills,Michigan
Mary Jo Sanders and Holly Holm fought to a 10-round majority draw. Judges scores: 97-93 Holm, 95-95, 95-95.  The two were fighting for the IBA Junior Middleweight title.

October 17, 2008 -In Guadalajara (Mexico)
Irma la “Güerita” Sánchez
outpointed Lucía “Traviesa” Ávalos to win the WBC International title at super flyweight.

October 17, 2008 - Galvez (Argentina)

Featherweight Cecilia Rodriguez, 1-2-1 (1KO), TKO’d Silvia  Gervasi, 0-8-2, in the fourth round, of a scheduled four round bout. [Logged into master search]

October 10, 2008 - Trelew, Chubut, Argentina
Lightweight Claudia Lopez TKO’d Pamela Benavidez in the [1:53 seconds] fifth round of a six round bout. In the local news media they said that Benavídez resisted well for 3 rounds and made López work until López found her range and imposed her greater technique and precision. This was only the third time López has fought in her home town – 1,200 saw the fight.


October 10, 2008 - Buenos Aires, Argentina

Junior featherweight Marcela Acuña, 120, from Argentina, TKO'd Paulina Cardona,119¼, in the first round of a scheduled eight round bout.  No other details at this time.

October 10, 2008 -  Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany
Super bantamweight Esther Schouten, 22-4-1 (11 KO), won by RTD in the third round, over Maribel Santana, 9-6-1 (3KO),  in a scheduled eight round bout. The local news sources reported that Maribel injured her hand and that is the cause the RTD.

Bantamweight Ana Tangaro, 116¾, pro debut, won a four-round unanimous decision over Michelle Nelson, 116¼. Final judges scores were 40-36, 40-36, and 39-37.  [Logged into master search]

October 5, 2008 – KBS Hall, Kyoto, Japan
Strawweight Etsuko Tada, 102,  stopped Nongoil Sithpor-ad, 101¼,  1:56 of the first round in a scheduled eight round bout.   It has been reported in other internet media sources that Tada has a 46-4 amateur boxing record.   [WBAN has not been able to confirm the amateur record that has been published on the net.  If there is some confirmation of this record.

October 4, 2008 - Bernissart, Hainaut, Belgium
Diane Schwachhofer
, 141,  won by a TKO in the fourth round over Maria Dimitrova, 137.  The fight was scheduled for six rounds. Schwachhofer is now 2-0-0 (1KO).   [Logged into master search]

October 4, 2008 - Woodlands Stadium, Lusaka, Zambia
Lightweight Esther Phiri won by a fifth round TKO over Hondi Hernandez. The two were fighting for the GBU super featherweight title. Also, featherweight Yvonne Chikapa won a four rounder by points over Benedetta Kaloki in a four rounder.   [Logged into master search]

October 4, 2008 - Schuetzenplatzhalle, Bautzen, Sachen, Germany
Junior welterweight Marie Riederer, of Sachen,  won a four-round unanimous decision over Nadine Koschnike, pro debuter, of Berlin, Germany. In the local news media, they reported that Riederer obtained a clear points victory over the 33-year-old Nadine Koschik. ['Koschnick' is the usual spelling]The girl from Weisswasser, thirteen years her junior, won all four rounds and gave the shorter 'power pack' from Berlin no chance."    [Logged into master search]

October 4, 2008 -  Neuwieder Heimathaus, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany
Middleweight Jessica Balogun, 19 years old, of Aachen, Germany, won by a second round TKO over Verena Herrman, 25 years old, who was making her pro debut. The two were scheduled to fight eight rounds. In the local news [translated from German]. They reported the following. With her athleticism, her explosive power and hard, precise combinations, Balogun would make a far greater attraction than most of the big names of women's boxing in Germany. Balogun overwhelmed her perplexed opponent with a hail of punches. In the first round, referee J.v. Belinghoven gave Herrman her two standings eight counts and even then she barely survived the round. In the second, Balogun allowed her no time to catch her breath and nowhere to run. After the first few exchanges, van Belinghoven had seen enough and stopped the fight to spare the brave local girl further punishment.
