  WBAN's Top Ten Picks of
Crazy Federation Ratings!...

If boxing federations wish to earn more credibility for their monthly or quarterly women’s boxing ratings, they should probably set a criteria for how they determine those ratings....Viewing some of the latest postings of ratings, it does not appear that there is very much forethought in that process.   WBAN has listed its TOP TEN PICKS OF  CRAZY RATINGS that are listed on different federations using their latest ratings from May 2003 to August 2003.
Here they go!

#1 Crazy rating: Becky Levi rated #5 as a heavyweight; How in the WORLD does a person get on the ratings when they have not by their OWN admission NEVER had a Boxing fight? Levi wrote to WBAN in January of 2003 and CONFIRMED that she had not fought a sanctioned boxing match. To add insult to injury, the federation (you figure out which one)  have her rated HIGHER than Martha Salazar and Carley Pesente….Only word for this one…. C.R.A.Z.Y…..!

#2 Crazy rating: Dawn Quinton rated as #2 as a light-heavyweight. She is actually rated OVER Kathy Rivers, who is ranked #5, who by the way DEFEATED Quinton a long LONG time ago. Quinton has not had a fight since 1998, and has a 1-1-0 (1KO) record. That is ONE “Crazy” rating!

#3 Crazy rating: Tiffany Logan in many of the federations as rated #4 Light-heavyweight and as rated #3 Light-heavyweight.  To ALL of these Federations…LOGAN has not fought since 1999!

#4 Crazy rating: Valerie Troike rated #7.  This crazy rating does not apply to this story as we received updated info that she fought September 23, 2001. (updated 07/30/07)

#5 Crazy rating: Yolanda Blackmer rated #14. Blackmer donning a 1-4 record that was easy foe for even Freeda Foreman and according to suspension records that are posted on the Internet is "indefinitely" suspended AND her ONLY win coming by phoney-baloney Willicia Moorehead!  Blackmer would be more appropriately rated on a top-ten HALL OF SHAMER list---but NO, she is regretfully ranked.

#6 Crazy Rating: Kendra Lenhart rated over multi-world champion Laila Ali…The ONLY question is HOW? Ali defeated Lenhart and is a multi-world champion, and yet  Lenhart is rated #1 and Ali #2 in the super-middleweight division…WBAN will have to get creative to figure that one out.

#7 and #8 Crazy rating: Pamela Barker rated #9. Barker has not fought since February of 2000, and then the same federation has Aichen Lahsen as #10 as a super-flyweight who has not fought since 1998. Ah….

#9 Crazy rating: Denise Moraetes rated #6 in Junior Welterweight.  Moraetes has not fought in over three years. When DO These women drop off the Top contender ratings?

#10 crazy ratings: WBAN will dedicate the #10 spot to ALL of the federations who rate ANY boxer who has not had a fight in over two years, and/or have announced their retirement from boxing and are still rated.

Someone in some of these federations, needs to do a little bit of homework when determining who should be rated and not be rated. The most consistent of all ratings that WBAN reviewed was the WIBA.
