5'9" southpaw Gabriela Fundora,
from Coachella, California, born on March 29, 2002, had an
extensive amateur boxing background, having over 36 plus amateur
bouts, before turning pro. Her coach in boxing is Freddy
Fundora where she trains at the Lee Espinoza Coachella Valley
Boxing Club.
Fundor said that she began boxing when she was just a little one
at the age of six. She comes from a boxing family, so it
was a great fit for her from the very beginning. In her
amateur career, she won the 2017 Nationals and being ranked #1.

On May 15, 2021, Fundodra made her pro debut at the Dignity
Health Sports Park , Carson, California, fighting as a super
flyweight Fundora, 113 3/4, won a four-round unanimous decision
over Jazmin Valverde, 112.5.
On July 3, 2021, at the Dignity
Health Sports Park , Carson, California,
Fundora, 114, won a four-round unanimous decision over Indeya
Smith, 110 1/4.
On January 14, 2022, at the Centro de Convenciones Vasco Núñez
de Balboa (Hotel El Panama), Panama City, Fundora, 112, won an
eight-round unanimous decision over Nataly Delgado, 111. The
final judges scores was 80-71 on all cards.
On July 28, 2022, at the Fantasy
Springs Casino, Indio, California, Fundora, 109, won an
eight-round unanimous decision over Lucia Hernandez Nunez, 111¾.
All judges score cards were 80-72.
On October 8, 2022, at the Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson,
California, Fundora, 111 1/4, of Coachella, California,
won by a ten round unanimous decision over Naomi Arellano Reyes,
111 1/2, of Tepic, Mexico. The two were fighting for the WBC
Latino Flyweight title. Fundora continues to display excellent
skills as she did in this fight. Final judges scores were 99-91,
99-91, and 98-92. Fundora remains undefeated with a 9-0-0 (4KO),
and Reyes is now 9-2-0 (5KO).
On January 27, 2024, at the
Footprint Center, in Phoenix, Arizona, "Sweet Poison"
Fundora, 111½, of Coachella, California, successfully defended
her IBF Flyweight world title when she won by a tenth round TKO
over Christina Cruz, 111¼, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Fundora
won the IBF Flyweight world title over Arely Mucino last year on
October 21, 2023, when she defeated Mucino by KO in the fifth
round of a ten round bout.
Fundora was named WBAN's February 2025 Fighter of the month.
On August 10, 2024, at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las
Vegas, Nevada, Gabriela Fundora, 109¾, won a ten-round unanimous
decision over Daniela Asenjo, 111 1/4. The two were
fighting for the IBF World Flyweight title.
