USA Olympic Trials - History-first in amateur women's boxing

     
   
   

5'5" flyweight Christina " The Hell's Kitchen Kid" Cruz, born on December 12, 1982, began boxing in 2006.  Cruz has had an extensive amateur background.  The first time that WBAN met Cruz was when she was in the history-first USA Olympic Trials that were taking place in Spokane, Washington in 2012.  Cruz made her pro debut in 2021.

On August 3, 2021,at the Madison Square Garden Theater, in New York, New York, flyweight Christina Cruz, 111 1/4, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, making her pro debut after a stellar amateur career, won a four-round majority decision over Indeya Smith, 111 1/2, of Dallas, Texas. Final Judges scores were 38-38, 37-39, and 36-40.

On November 27, 2021, at theMadison Square Garden Theater, New York
Christina Cruz, 111 1/2, won a six-round unanimous decision over Maryguenn Vellinga, 110 3/4.

On June 11, 2022, at the  Madison Square Garden Theater, New York
Flyweight Christina Cruz, 111 3/4, won a four-round unanimous decision over Maryguenn Vellinga, 110 1/2.
