Born and Raised in Charlotte, North
Carolina, Carrie "Beauty & the Beast" Flock made history
in December 2000 when she stepped into the boxing ring as
Charlotte's first professional female boxer. Breaking away from
her family's lineage of champions in NASCAR, Carrie carved her
own path in the world of boxing.
Known as "Beauty and the Beast,"
Carrie earned this nickname for her ability to exude elegance
outside the ring while delivering powerful punches inside it.
Her skill and determination led to her recording two of the
fastest knockouts in boxing history, with victories achieved in
just 20 and 19 seconds respectively, both in the first round.
Despite her impressive victories,
Carrie faced three (3) of her defeats with determination and
grit, losing by judges' decisions. Her boxing career came to an
unexpected halt when she tore her rotator cuff during her last
fight. After a challenging recovery process, Carrie made the
difficult decision to retire from boxing at the age of 40.
Throughout her career, Carrie
became an advocate for breast cancer awareness following her
mother's diagnosis. Even after retiring from boxing, she
continued her advocacy work, remaining dedicated to a cause
close to her heart.
Transitioning from the ring,
Carrie found fulfillment in mentoring young girls and women in
the sport of boxing. With a degree in photography, she captured
the essence & emotions in boxing moments, with some of her
images featured in worldwide publications and even selected as
the photographer for a local UFC fight.
She created a visual story through her emotionally iconic
images.
Carrie's contributions to boxing
didn't go unnoticed, as she received the MVP award from Pretty
Girl Promotions, Best Photographer from Vegas Grand Promotions
and in 2018 she was voted "Most Inspirational" with North
Carolina Boxing. (Voted by the fans)
Even though Carrie may not of won a Championship Belt She became
a Champion in the people’s hearts and ended her boxing career
with a record of
7-3-0 (4KO), with one medical stoppage.
In 2021, Carrie ventured into a
new arena by competing in pageantry and won her first pageant,
becoming Ms. NC Americas United States. Using her title, she
continued her advocacy efforts for breast cancer awareness while
also inspiring young girls and women to pursue their dreams
fearlessly.
She decided to lead by example and show that you can be anything
you set your mind to verses just talking about it.
Carrie's journey from the boxing ring to the pageant stage
exemplifies her resilience, passion, and commitment to making a
positive impact both inside and outside of the ring. She found
away to bring the Beauty of Pageantry and the Beast of Boxing to
a full circle.
Achievements she has accomplished outside of the ring while
using her experience from inside the ring.

Carrie's life journey has been marked by both loss and
resilience, shaping her into a passionate advocate for breast
cancer awareness and early detection.
In March 2019, Carrie faced the devastating loss of her mother
to breast cancer---a battle fought with courage and grace.
Shortly after, grief struck again as she bid farewell to her
dear Aunt Fairy, who succumbed to lung cancer January of 2023.
Little did Carrie know that she
was being prepared for her own battle. In June of 2023, at the
age of 47, Carrie received the life-altering diagnosis of breast
cancer. Though she faced an emotional roller coaster, Carrie
drew upon her years of boxing experience and the strength she
gained from her past hardships to confront her diagnosis
head-on.
Rather than letting her diagnosis consume her, Carrie channeled
her energy into raising awareness about breast cancer and the
importance of early detection.
Through her own journey, she became a beacon of hope and
inspiration for others facing similar challenges. Her
transparency has been the center of her healing but also
inspiration to many others.
In 2024, Carrie's advocacy
efforts were recognized when she was selected as an ambassador
for Susan G. Komen. In this role, she takes concerns to
Congress, advocating for policies and funding to support breast
cancer research, treatment, and awareness initiatives.
Additionally, Carrie will propose any bills at the White House
this coming June further amplifying her impact on the fight
against breast cancer.
Despite the hardships she has faced, Carrie's resilience,
determination, and unwavering commitment to making a difference
have made her a true champion in the battle against breast
cancer. Her journey serves as a testament to the power of
turning adversity into advocacy, and her legacy will continue to
inspire and empower countless individuals for years to come.
