5’6” junior welterweight Christina Swanson was born on January 1, 1982 in Seattle, Washington.
She grew up playing many sports, but focused primarily on swimming.   This led to an athletic scholarship to Washington State University, where she spent 2 years before transferring and finishing out her swimming career at University of Miami.  While attending the University of Miami, Swanson earned her bachelors in biology.

Swanson began boxing in 2004 to fulfill her competitive drive after finishing her collegiate swimming career.  After 3 months in the gym she jumped into her first amateur fight.  After only three fights she attended her first national golden gloves tournament.

Amateur highlights include:

Southern California Golden Gloves Champion – 2005
Florida Gold Coast District Champion- 2006 & 2007
U.S. National Bronze Medalist- 2006, 2007 & 2008
Sunshine State Games Champion- 2006 & 2007
National Golden Gloves Silver Medalist- 2006 & 2008
Southeast Coast Regional Champion- 2007
Florida State Golden Gloves Champion- 2007
National Golden Gloves Champion- 2007
National PAL Champion- 2007
Miami New Times Best Local Boxer 2008

Swanson now trains in Miami, Florida with trainers Luis Lagerman and Matt Baiamonte.  She works as a lifeguard for Miami Beach Ocean Rescue and is working towards a career as a fire fighter.
