Bantamweight/junior featherweight Janeth "Cuisilla" Pérez Vigil was born on December 5 1989 in Zapopan, Jalisco, México.  She is trained by Oscar "Chololo" Larios, who won the WBC Featherweight world title in 2008.

She made her pro debut on November 14, 2008 at Arena Jalisco in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México, weighing in at 121¾ lbs.  She defeated Salma Ofelia Canales Hernandez (126½ lbs) of Gudalajara, who was also making her pro debut, when Canales retired at the start of the final round of a scheduled four-rounder.

On December 5, 2008 at Arena Jalisco in Guadalajara, Janeth (123¼ lbs) won a four-round unanimous (40-36x3) decision over junior welterweight Isabel Lopez (142¾ lbs) of Guadalajara, who fell to 0-4.

On November 20, 2009 at Arena Coliseo in Guadalajara, Janeth (126 lbs) won a rematch with Salma Canales (126 lbs) by a four-round unanimous (40-36x3) decision. Canales fell to 0-2 with the loss.

On December 20, 2009 at Casino Monte Real in Jamay, Jalisco, México, Janeth won a four-round unanimous decision over pro debuter Diana Rosales.

On April 9, 2010 at Arena Jalisco in Guadalajara, Janeth (129½ lbs) won a six-round unanimous (60-54,60-54,59-55) decision over 17-year-old junior welterweight Nayeli Jimenez Garcia (140¼ lbs) of Zapopan, who was making her pro debut.

On May 14, 2010 at Arena Coliseo in Guadalajara, Janeth (124¼ lbs) won a six-round unaimous (60-54,60-54,59-55) decision over Miriam Victoria (128 lbs) of Tlalnepantla, México who fell to 0-3-1.

On July 9, 2010 at Arena Jalisco in Guadalajara, Janeth (121¾ lbs) won by a TKO at 0:32 in the second round over pro debuter Maricela Loyola Rodriguez (120¾ lbs) of México City.  The bout had been scheduled for six rounds.

On August 20, 2010 at Arena Jalisco in Guadalajara, Janeth (122 lbs) won a six-round majority (59-55,58-56,57-57) decision ver Rocio Castillo (127¼ lbs) of Guadalajara, who fell to 1-1 (0 KO's).

On October 23, 2010 at Explanada "El Grullo" in El Grullo, Jalisco, México, Janeth (125½ lbs) won a four-round unanimous (40-36,40-36,39-37) decision over junior middleweight Alma de la Cruz (148¼ lbs) of Guadalajara, who fell to 1-1. (de la Cruz's only previous pro fight had been four and a half years earlier).

On December 10, 2010 at Arena Jalisco in Guadalajara, Janeth (120¼  lbs) won an eight-round unanimous (78-74,80-72,80-72) decision over Magali Rodiguez (121½ lbs) of Monterrey, Nuevo León, México, who fell to 3-2 (1 KO).

On January 29, 2011 at Arena Coliseo in Guadalajara, Janeth (121¼ lbs) won the Mexican Junior Featherweight title with a ten-round unanimous (96-94,96-94,98-92) decision over Rocio Castillo (121¼ lbs) of Guadalajara, who fell to 2-2 (0 KO's) with her second loss to Perez.

On April 1, 2011 at Arena Jalisco in Guadalajara, Janeth (122¼ lbs) won a ten-round split decision over 38-year-old Maria Elena Villalobos (122¼ lbs) of México City defending the Mexican Juinior Featherweight title. Villalobos, who had been boxing professionally since 2007 and had world title fights with Marcela Acuna and Ana Julaton,  fell to 7-6 (3 KO's) with the loss.

On May 27, 2011 in Arena Jalisco, Guadalajara, Janeth (Santiago Tiaguistenco, México, Janeth (120¼ lbs)  TKO'd pro debuter junior bantamweight Mary Camacho (113 lbs) of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco, México at 1:25 in the fourth round of a scheduled ten-rounder.  (Camacho went on to lose all of her first five pro fights).

Perez drops MarrugoOn July 16, 2011 at the Lobo Dome in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, México, Janeth (115¾ lbs) TKO'd Yolis Marrugo Franco (116¾ lbs) of Cartagena, Colombia at 1:58 in the seventh round of a scheduled ten-rounder for the vacant WBA Bantamweight title. Perez was aggressive from the start of the fight and knocked Marrugo down in the first round.  Marrugo fell to 13-8-3 (8 KO's) with the loss. The entire complement of officials for the fight - judges Carla Caiz of California, Reina Urbaez of Venezuela and Lynne Carter of Pennsylvania, referee Romina Arroyo of Cordoba, Argentina and WBA supervisor Noryoli Gil of Venezuela - were women. Janeth Perez vs Yanina AcunaOn October 15, 2011 at Centro Internacional de Convenciones in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, México, Janeth (115¾ lbs) defended the WBA Bantamweight title with a ten-round unanimous decision (99-91,98-92,99-91] over Yanina Natalia "La Rasta" Acuña (118 lbs) of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The fight was a toe to toe brawl with neither boxer showing much defense and Acuña ended the bout with a badly bruised and swollen left eye. Acuña fell to 10-5-2 (3 KO's) with the loss. Perez is set to defend the WBA Bantamweight title against Claudia Andrea Lopez (18-5, 4 KO's) of Argentina in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, México on February 4, 2012.
