Shannon "Rose" Gunville is a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. She started boxing at the age of 18 under the direction of her father, Wayne Gunville. She is currently 9-1as an amateur, and is the only North Dakota woman to hold the two-time Golden Glove championship (1999 and 2000).

When Gunville is not boxing, she is in school.  She attends college at Bismarck State College, where she plays basketball and has been able to excel at this sport also.

Gunville plans to have her first professional fight sometime in early 2002.
