Asian/Oceanian Olympic Qualifiers

(MAR 29) The 2016 Asian/Oceanian Olympic qualifying
tournament opened in Qianan, China with but few surprises in the
opening sessions of either men’s or women’s preliminaries.
Disappointment though for Australia’s Kristy Harris in the women’s
51kg class, going under 3:0 to Thailand’s Peamwilai Laopeam. Defeat
too for leading Indian 75kg fighter Pooja Rani a narrow 2:1 spilt
decision against Tajikistani Shoira Zulkaynarova. So here

Ladies Fight Night - Still Time for
Female Amateur Fighters to Register for this event!

(MAR 29) Atlanta, GA: There is still time for female
amateur fighters to register for Ladies Fight Night, which will be
April 30 and May 1 at Buckhead Fight Club, in Atlanta, GA. "We have
gotten a wide response, and I'm excited to see this come together!"
said Terri Moss. "We've got fighters from Texas, Alabama, North and
South Carolina, Illinois and Florida so far, and want to give anyone

Mikaela Mayer Qualifies for the
Olympics on a Gold Medal Day for Team USA

(MAR 20) BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA -The day that Mikaela Mayer (Los
Angeles, Calif.) has been working toward for the past six years
finally came on Saturday at the Americas Qualifier in Buenos Aires.
The American lightweight clinched her berth in the 2016 Olympic
Games with a gold medal victory in Argentina. She was one of four
victories on an undefeated day for the United States. Bantamweight
Shakur Stevenson (Newark, N.J.) and Olympic champion Claressa
Shields (Flint, Mich.) both joined Mayer atop the medal stand with
victories in their gold medal bouts and flyweight Virginia Fuchs
(Kemah, Texas) earned a win in her consolation match.

(MAR 15) BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA (MARCH 14, 2016) - It was Ladies
Night for the American women on Monday at the Americas Qualifier in
Buenos Aires, Argentina as all three earned quarterfinal wins in the
Olympic qualifying event. Welterweight Paul Kroll (Philadelphia,
Pa.) started the day off with a U.S. victory in the early session
while Pan American Games champion Antonio Vargas (Kissimmee, Fla.)
dropped his flyweight contest.
