(SEPT 1) Nigeria boxer
Bolatito Oluwole has arrived in New Zealand for her world title
opportunity against two-division world champion and the IBF
Light Heavyweight defending champion Maori boxer Lani Daniels.
Oluwole arrived at Auckland airport last Friday at 2:30 a.m. to
prepare for her first world title opportunity at Globox Arena
(formerly known as Claudelands Arena) on September 7th in
Hamilton, live on Sky Sports. She now has less than a week to
climatise in a new country and overcome jetlag before the fight
of her career.
While she is here, she does not plan to do much sightseeing as
she is here to focus on the fight. “I’m not going to be here
long enough to enjoy too much. It’s more training and focusing
on the fight night right now”. She is not here for pleasure, its
all strictly business from here on out.She feels confident that
she can beat the world champion Lani Daniels, stating, “My
confidence is 100 per cent for this fight.” She is a person of
few words. She does not have any predictions for the fight, only
to “just to get there and get it done”.
For those who don’t know Bolatito Oluwole, she is ranked highly
across the board, ranked 1st in IBF, 1st in WBO, 5th on Boxrec,
and 6th in WBA. She is currently undefeated with 9 wins, 5 of
those wins come by way of knockout. She currently holds the
Kenyan national Crusierweight title, one of three professional
boxing national champions in the world who is a female
crusierweight champion.
With five wins by knockout, she will technically be the hardest
hitter Lani Daniels has ever fought. However, looking at Oluwole
CV, her toughest opponent she has ever fought was Celina Agwu,
who is currently 3 - 1 - 0. The rest of Oluwole's past opponents
have had less than two fights. So the question is, does Oluwole
have strength, or has she only fought easy opponents?
Daniels has had more fights, more rounds and an extensive
amateur boxing career. Not to mention a two-division world
champion, current IBF Light Heavyweight world champion,
three-time New Zealand national professional boxing champion,
first-ever ANBF Australasian Heavyweight female champion and a
two-division New Zealand amateur champion.
This comes down to Nigerian power vs. the Maori experience.
Also on the undercard will feature Joseph Parker's younger
brother, John Parker vs the Fijian Alivereti Kauyaca for the WBA
Oceania Crusierweight title, with the winner to begin the
progress of a top 15 world ranking in the WBA.
Other fights including Tauranga Rini Porter vs Auckland Jesse
Maio, New Zealand national (PBCNZ version) Crusierweight
champion Tinta Smith vs Tiani Barlow and in a semi pro fight
Michael Peterson vs Riki Sharpe.
The event will feature a mixture of kickboxing, amateur boxing
and tag team kickboxing.
IBF World Light Heavyweight title defence Lani Daniels vs
Bolatito Oluwole will happen 7th of September at Globox Arena
(formerly known as Claudelands Arena) on September 7th in
Hamilton, live on Sky Sports.
