Rivera Wins by a Fifth Round TD over Jacqueline Calvo

(AUG 24) Last night at the
Casino de Buenos Aires, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in a live
boxing event, and promoted by the World Boxing Association, in
one of the mainliners, Maria Magdalena Rivera, 111, won a fifth
round technical decision in a scheduled ten-round bout against
Jacqueline Calvo, 111 ½, when Calvo received several headbutts
in the bout. The fight went to the scorecards of the judges that
were 46-49, 47-48, and 47-48. The referee made that decision
when Calvo received an eye injury. Rivera is now 14-6-3 (3KO),
and Calvo is 21-9-2 (2KO).
This victory marks an important
milestone for Rivera, who has been steadily climbing the
rankings in her weight division. Despite the unfortunate
circumstances surrounding Calvo's injury, it was a hard-fought
battle that showcased the determination and skill of both
fighters. With this win, Rivera's record improves, further
solidifying her presence in the boxing world. As for Calvo, she
will undoubtedly regroup and come back stronger in her next
bout.
It is worth noting the
