(JULY 21) Last night at the
Resorts World Arena, in Birmingham, United Kingdom, in a
thrilling showdown, Chantelle Cameron, 139.4, of Northhampton,
UK, emerged victorious, securing the Interim WBC Super
Lightweight World
Title with a ten-round majority decision over Elhem Mekhaled, 138.4, of
Paris, France. The final judges scores were 95-95, 99-92, and
98-92, which was a bit odd. Cameron moved her record to
19-1-0 (8KO's) and Mekhaled is now 17-3-0 (3KO).
The win not only solidifies
Cameron's position as a top contender in the super lightweight
division but also sets the stage for an eagerly anticipated
showdown with undisputed champion Katie Taylor. With this
impressive victory, Cameron has sent a clear message to the
boxing world that she is ready to challenge the best in the
business.

Highlights of the fight last night:
Cameron's rise in the sport has
been nothing short of remarkable. With each victory, she has
gained more confidence and momentum, solidifying her status as a
force to be reckoned with.
With this win last night Cameron----I am sure will be wanting a
trilogy match with Katie Taylor. Time will tell on that
one, since Taylor is set to fight in a rematch against Amanda
Serrano!
