(July 20) Tonight at the Amalie
Arena, in Tampa, Florida, Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano
defeated Stevie Morgan by a second round TKO in a scheduled
ten-round bout. The bout was part of the “Fear No Man” Boxing
event headlined by Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry and was streamed on
DAZN PPV.
Serrano dominated the match and quickly handed Morgan her second
professional loss. Despite Morgan's size advantage, Serrano's
experience proved to be the deciding factor.
Morgan had said in the press conference
just two days prior to the fight, the following in regards
to Serrano, "I’m not being disrespectful at all, I’m just
stating facts. If I had to fight any of the fighters at the top,
Amanda is the one I’d choose mainly because she’ll make me look
good… she’s on her way out, she could have retired two years
ago."
Serrano responded with total class over those comments at the
press conference, as she always does about her opponents.
If anything she probably gave Morgan a boxing lesson
tonight---not a bad thing for any boxer to see where they are at
in the sport, and we all know that we learn way more with our
losses than our wins.
This was Serrano’s 50th fight as a professional. She is also a
WBAN two-time belt holder as the P4P female boxer in those
weight classes.
Morgan did make it through the first round, but it didn’t take a
rocket scientist to see that Serrano was far superior in this
fight to have it go very long. The fight was called by the
referee in the second round.
Serrano's dominant performance silenced any doubts
about her capabilities. With this win, Serrano further
solidified her position as one of the top female boxers in the
world. Her journey to the 50-fight milestone is a testament to
her dedication and passion for the sport. As for Morgan, this
defeat serves as a humbling reminder that talent alone is not
enough to secure victory in the ring.
Despite the loss, Morgan should be commended for stepping into
the ring against such a formidable opponent. Her bravery and
determination are qualities that will undoubtedly serve her well
in future fights. As for Serrano, her dominance in the sport
shows no signs of waning. With each victory, she cements her
legacy as a true boxing great.
