Dina Thorslund Successfully Defends her WBC/WBO World Titles against Seren Cetin

(MAY 27) On Saturday night at the Royal Arena, in Copenhagen, Denmark, Dina Thorslund, 117 1/4,  of Denmark defeated Seren Cetin, 117 1/4, of Instanbul, Turkey in a ten-round unanimous decision. Thorslund successfully defended her WBC and WBO Bantamweight world titles. The final judges' scores were 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91.

With this victory, Thorslund improves her professional record to 22-0-0 (9KO). Cetin experienced her first loss as a pro and now holds a record of 11-1-0 (7KO).

Before stepping into the ring on Saturday night, Thorslund's last fight happened on February 24, 2024, in Copenhagen, Denmark. She defended her WBC/WBO Bantamweight title against Mary Romero and winning by an eighth round TKO.

Cetin's last fight happened on April 30, 2024, in Istanbul, Turkey. She won the scheduled ten-round bout,  by a unanimous decision against Mary Romero. The fight was for the Silver WBC Bantamweight title.

Thorslund's dominant performance against Cetin further solidifies her position as one of the top fighters in the bantamweight division. With an undefeated record and multiple successful title defenses, she is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with.

As for Cetin, her first loss as a professional boxer serves as a valuable learning experience. Despite this setback, her impressive record and previous victories demonstrate her potential to bounce back and continue making strides in the sport.

Thorslund's next steps are awaited with anticipation, as fans and pundits wonder who will be her next challenger. With her current form and skill set, it won't be surprising if she continues to dominate the bantamweight division for years to come.
