(MAY 1) PORTLAND, OR -  In the last two years I had made a decision to attend many of the boxing hall of fames that have taken place throughout the United States.

It was an incredible experience to witness the legends of the sport being celebrated and honored----to many "unsung heroes" who dedicated their lives to boxing, with each inductee having a unique story that transcended the boundaries of the ring.

It is always a reminder, that boxing is not just about punches and knockouts; it's about courage, determination, and resilience. It's about the ability to overcome obstacles both inside and outside the ring.

These hall of fame ceremonies served as a powerful reminder of the impact that boxing has had on the lives of so many people. And while the physicality of the sport may be what initially draws people in, it's the stories behind the fighters that truly captivate and inspire.

In attending these ceremonies, I had an opportunity to witness  history being made, and surrounded by a community of people who shared a deep love and appreciation for the sport.

One of the favorite things I love to see at hall of fames is the camaraderie, the sisterhood-brotherhood that takes place. I have seen the people who have been inducted, have a heart healed from things that may have happened to them in the past when they were active in the sport.

It's truly heartwarming to witness how being recognized for their achievements can bring closure and a sense of validation to these athletes.

It's a reminder that sports are not only about competition, but also about community and the human spirit. Each inductee's journey is unique and their stories serve as inspiration for future generations.

So I would personally like to give a "Shout Out" to all of the boxing hall of fames that honor our boxers, and those who give so much to support the sport outside the the ring.
