(NOV 29) WBAN has just added an elite amateur boxer,  Deborah Grant, who is from Spring Lake, North Carolina, and currently fights at 57 kg/125 lbs.  She is ranked #2 in the nation with USA Boxing.

Some of the top highlights of Grant's amateur thus far are some of the following:  In 2023,  Grant has just arrived on the National level and has made a statement;  In March of 2023 Grant won the 2023 57KG division at the National Qualifier in Detroit, Michigan,  with wins over some of the top ranked boxers in the nation. She solidified her spot in the Olympic trials with this championship win; and in July of 2023, Grant won the USA Boxing Women’s Championships in Toledo, Ohio.

Before Grant decided to get into boxing, she was in other sports that included basketball and  also running track.

As of 2023, she has now been boxing for 2 ½ years. She was new to Fort Liberty and found there was not much to do in the area and took up boxing.

A former military soldier she met Coach Font and told him she wanted to be a boxer. Coach Font and Coach Mon took her under their wing and so began the path to the podium.

On December 4th through December 9th Grant has the #1 seed at the Olympic Trials 57kg Division. This is a completely stacked division with 15 qualified boxers.

When talking to Grant about her style as a boxer, she said that she sees herself as a Traditional boxer, using the whole ring. By the way, her "nickname is Show Time!"

One of her Goals is to become an Olympian and knowing it sounds cliché she feels she can be the best female boxer in the world.
“The work I put in day in day out- I quit my job to focus on boxing. The Long runs- and road work - pushing myself to the point where I have given everything I got. No one has trained as hard as me. I train day in and day out and this is mine to win- and no one is coming to take that from me.’
