(APRIL 12)  On June 3, 2023,  at the Little Ceasars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, Claressa "T-Rex" Shields, 13-0-0 (2KO), of Flint, Michigan, is set to defend her WBC, IBF, WBA and WBO Middleweight titles against Hanna Gabriels, 21-2-1 (12KO), of Costa Rica.

This is a return to the ring for Gabriels who has not fought for two years, with her last fight taking place on Apriil 1, 2021 when she stopped Martha Patricia Lara Gaytan, winning by a TKO in the second round in a scheduled ten round bout. The two were fighting for the Light Heavyweight WBA and WBC vacant titles.

The first time that Shields and Gabriels, nearly five years ago on June 22, 2018,  it was an exciting ten round bout where Shields defeated Gabriels with a ten-round unanimous decision  for the IBF and WBA World Middleweight titles.

The WBA wrote, "Claressa is coming off a win over Savannah Marshall to become undisputed champion and feels it’s time to return home after that last fight in London. Detroit will get a chance to see the Michigan native in action in such an important bout.

Gabriels, has won world titles in several divisions and currently reigns supreme at heavyweight. She will be moving down in weight for her rematch and has been working hard in Costa Rica for the past few months.

This should be a very interesting rematch for the two of these boxers!
