Meeting up with Some of Our International
Women's Boxing Hall of Famers and Special Award Recipient at the
Beautiful Brawlers!

(FEB 22) This last weekend
on February 18-19, I went to cover the Beautiful Brawlers Event,
that took place in Pacifica, California. It was an amazing
event that had 50 female amateur bouts!
What was also a great opportunity
was to have met up with some of our International Women's Boxing
Hall of Famers and a Special Award Recipient.
Firstly, I met with 2019 IWBHF Inductee, and history-first WBC
Heavyweight World Champion, Martha Salazar, who is part
of the Beautiful Brawlers, and is amazing the work she does
outside the ring after retiring from boxing.
Also, I had the pleasure of
spending time with 2019 IWBHF Inductee, and President/founder of
the Beautiful Brawler's Blanca Gutierrez, and 2022 IWBHF
Special Award recipient Lupi Gutierrez-Beagle. Both are
doing an unbelievable job with the female amateur boxers in the
sport.
A big surprise was getting to see
our 2022 IWBHF Inductee, Eliza Olson, and her new baby at
the event. Eliza is set to be inducted into the West Coast
Hall of Fame in March of this year, and I will be covering that
event in Los Angeles, California.
But Lastly, I met up with our
current 2023 IWBHF Inductee, Melissa "Mighty Poderosa"
McMorrow. She is being officially inducted at our
two-day event that takes place on October 6-7, 2023, at the
Orleans Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Those who
would love to see her and the IWBHF class if 2023 and 2024 being

The event was totally sold out,
and the fights on the show were spectacular. Women's
Boxing has come a long way, and it is great to see the progress
with the female boxers making great strides in the sport at such
a young age.
