Big plans are in talks for the winner of Historic World title fight

(FEB 10) Talks have begun to have the winner between Lani Daniels vs. Alrie Meleisea IBF World Heavyweight title fight for unification in the USA.

Promoter Vasco Kovačević has been in talks to possibly make the historic fight between Lani Daniels and Alrie Meleisea for both IBF and WBO World Heavyweight titles. Currently, the IBF is confirmed for the fight on May 27th at Aucklands Eventfinda Stadium, however, WBO has not. But if the WBO decide not to confirm this world title fight, the following fight will be.

Kovačević is now in discussions with an American promoter for the winner of the Lani Daniels vs Alrie Meleisea fight to take on a highly-ranked boxer in America for a unification world heavyweight title. Kovačević can not reveal who the promoter or the boxer is as of yet, but if all goes to plan, Daniels or Meleisea will be making their USA debut as soon as August this year.

Only one New Zealand female boxer has fought in the USA in their professional career in the history of New Zealand Boxing. In May 2018, Baby Nansen fought at Madison Square Garden when she took on Mikaela Mayer before Mayer became the Unified World Super Featherweight champion. Kovačević putting in efforts to make one of these fighters to be the next person to put New Zealand women boxing onto the map.

Kovačević can not release the name of the boxer who could be the opponent in August, but if the boxer is American, there are currently four American boxers who couple possibly be in the running for a world title shot. WBC Silver Champion Danielle Perkins, Laura Ramsey, Lorissa Rivas Wallace and Aidyl Cardenas. Oxandia Castillo who is highly ranked across the board in the top 2, isn't American but has American management and promoters and in my opinion, should get the first shot at the winner between Daniels vs Meleisea.

Kovačević is working hard on making sure that the historic world title event will be the best boxing event of the year. The event has been confirmed to be televised by Sky TV. He can confirm that he will have at least 5 or 6 professional fights on the undercard of the world title fight. Kovačević will be taking on significant costs to put on the world title event as well as the production costs to make sure the event is televised. He is currently looking for sponsorship for the event including naming rights sponsorship.

Tickets will be on sale soon with General Admission tickets to be sold with Eventfinda and Corporate Tables sold either with Kovačević directly or on the RLCA website.
