Las Vegas:  International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Event Latest Updates!

(AUG 29)  On Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada, we are set to have our International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame (IWBHF) Induction Ceremony Event and the line up just keeps getting better! 

We have just confirmed another one of our key speakers, Boxing Legend and Hall of Famer Al Bernstein for our event.  Since 2003, Bernstein has served as the boxing analyst on Showtime for Showtime Championship Boxing. Prior to that In 1992 and 1996, he served as the boxing analyst for NBC's coverage of the Summer Olympic Games. From 1999–2002, he was a sports anchor for KVVU news in Las Vegas, and more. 

We have also confirmed that high-profile and celebrity Christy "The Coal Miner's Daughter" Martin who just got inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame---and also she is one of our inductees from 2014 will be a special guest.  Martin will have her book-signing available during our "Meet and Greet"!  To read the five-star book, you can purchase the book beforehand our event, or buy one at the event.  link on Amazon for book.

Our other key speakers is Kathy Collins, Daisy Lang, Amy Green, with the IWBHF Vice-President Wanda Countiss and IWBHF President Sue TL Fox with opening remarks. 

This year we will be celebrating the largest class ever for our organization that is 16 IWBHF inductees for 2022.

Our theme this year is "Celebration" especially after what we have endured in the last two years.  We are anticipating a sold-out affair with honoring not only our 2022 Inductees but those receiving special awards for what they have accomplished in the sport. Our 2022 Inductees and More:  Hannah "The Vegas" Fox (retired World champion, and 2022 IWBHF Inductee); Lisa Holewyne (retired World Champion, and Hall of Famer), Sumya "The Island Girl" Anani (Retired Multi-World Champion, and IWBHF Hall of Famer), Layla "Amazing" McCarter (Current Eight-Time World Champion, and numerous awards), Fredia "The Cheetah" Gibbs (World champion and IWBHF 2022 Inductee);  Daisy Lang (History-making retired multi-world champion, 2017 IWBHF Hall of Famer, and is one of our speakers in 2022);  Eva-Jones Young, retired multi-world champion, and IWBHF 2022 Inductee; Eliza Olson (Retired World Champion, and 2022 IWBHF Inductee);  Rose Trentman, (First Commissioner to be inducted into the IWBHF in 2022); Margaret Sidoroff (Retired World Champion, and 2022 IWBHF Inductee);  Jimmy Finn (long time advocate and history-making outside the ring for women's boxing, 2022 IWBHF Inductee);  Chevelle Halback, one of our History-Making multi-world champion who won the first WBAN P4P belt in 2008.  Sharon Anyos of Australia will be inducted this year, but is one of our 2020 Inductees that could not attend due to the Covid.  Retired Heavyweight champion Martha Salazar, who was the first to win a WBC Heavyweight world title; Marischa Sjauw who will be coming from the Netherlands to be post inducted from 2021 when she was unable to attend last year due to Covid restrictions.

Jake Gutierrez (Boxing Ring Announcer, and our IWBHF Master of Ceremony of Event in 2022); Mary Ann Owen (Las Vegas Photographer/2020 IWBHF Hall of Famer);  Valerie "The Wolfe" Mahfood (retired multi-world champion, 2021 IWBHF Inductee to be honored this year); Chris Byrd (Retired Multi-World Champion); Wayne "Rocket Pocket" McCullough (Retired WBC World Champion) and his wife Cheryl McCullough;  Thomas Gerbasi, (Sports Writer and more, and 2022 IWBHF Inductee); Brenda Zaragoza; top past photographer history-making Linda Platt J’Marie Moore, retired pro boxer and daughter of Archie Moore; Los Angeles photographer Nate Wren;

Darlene Buckskin (History first Native American Pioneer 1970's boxer, along with (posthumous) sister Theresa Kibby, receiving a  2022 Special Award); Pat Pineda (Pioneer 1970's boxer, first to receive a California Boxing License - 2022 Special Award Recipient); Malissa Smith (Author of the History of Women's Boxing, the IWBHF 2022 Speaker to announce our Inductees that she has done yearly);  Amy Green (IWBHF Publicist and Board Member) Wanda Countiss (IWBHF Vice President, and CEO at South Florida Female Boxing Team);  Patrick Ortiz (promoter, matchmaker, receiving a 2022 Special Award).

Jill Morley Award-Winning Producer/Director of "Fight Like A Girl" along with her exemplary team will be filming our event and interviews. Boxing Trainer and Manager, Luis Tapia; retired World champion Wayne McCullough, his wife Cheryl McCullough;

We have Coyote Duran of Chicago, Illinois, “Coyote Duran’s Creation Nation” who is part of our IWBHF event who will be utilizing his talents as an artist to present some beautiful rendition(s) of our 2022 event. Duran said that when he was very young before he had become a writer and copy/content editor for RingTV.com, he began his journey into drawing---and with bit of imagination and a huge love affair with comic books and more.

We have also invited the very talented singer “The Wy Mac” who was featured on “Ireland’s Got Talent” to perform our “theme” song of the 2022 Celebration! She also was part of our event in our 2020-2021 IWBHF event.

The October 22, 2022 semi-formal induction ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m., with the popular meet/greet with the honorees and invited special guests along with the now traditional signing of the 7’ high historical banner by every female boxer.

 Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m., with the induction ceremony scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
