(MAR 25) Tomorrow night at
the Habtoor Grand Resort and Hotel in Al Falea Street, in Dubai,
Denise Castle, 3-2-0 (3KO), of Bournemouth, Dorset, United
Kingdom, will be entering the squared circle with Norj Guro,
11-7-0 (4KO), of Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, Philippines, to
fight in an eight-round bout for the WBC Silver Atomweight
title.
Today at the weigh-in both made weight and WBAN received photos
of the two by Lorne Castle.
When the fight was confirmed
early in March, Denise said, "It’s ON - after delay from
Coronavirus finally arranged for March 26th in Dubai - time to
get back on the Title Belt Hunt . This is a monumental fight for
me but also for female boxing in Dubai - being the first WBC
female title belt held in the nation Global TV viewing."
Denise's last fight took place in 2019 (pre-Covid) when she
fought Sutthinee Bamrungpao, on October 26, 2019 when she
stopped her opponent, winning the vacant WIBA minimumweight
title.
Norj Guro, last fight professionally took place on May 7, 2018,
when she defeated Joan Ambalong in a six-rounder by
unanimous decision.
