Elina Won the WBF Featherweight Title over Overline Odero

(MAY 8) Elina Tissen, “Elin The Machine”, won the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens World Featherweight title on Saturday, May 8yj, defeating Overline Odero from Kenya in her hometown of Warendorf, Germany.

Southpaw Odero gave the local favorite plenty to think about in a very competitive fight, but Tissen was the main aggressor and landed the cleaner shots.

The visitor was game and dangerous throughout, but after ten rounds of entertaining boxing Tissen was declared the winner by clear unanimous decision.

Judges Ibrahim Barakat and Kazim Kurnazboth scored the fight a landslide 100-90, while judge Jamal Sharoyan scored the fight 99-91. Tissen was a deserved winner, but the fight was much more evenly contested than the scores indicate.

Born in Krasny, Russia, and a former world champion at Super Bantamweight, Featherweight and Super Featherweight, the new WBF World Featherweight Champion took her professional record to 24-2 (6). Odero drops to 10-10-2 (2).

The fight headlined a show behind closed doors promoted by Elin Boxing.
