Three Female Bouts on Card in Tennessee
May 17, 2021

(MAY 17) On Friday night at the Embassy Suites Nashville SE, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, featured three female bouts on the card and one male boxing bout. In the mainliner, Heather Hardy, 135¾, of Brooklyn, New York, fighting Jessica Camara, 135½, of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The bout was scheduled as a eight-rounder, in the Lightweight division.

In the first round, Camara experienced a knockdown (20 seconds in first round) by Hardy, but the end result was winning by a unanimous decision with a final score by judges of 79-73, 78-73, and 77-74.

In a post-fight interview, Camara was overwhelmed with the win, and said that she could not even try to describe how she was feeling and that Hardy is one of her role models, growing up in the sport.

In a second female bout, in a closely fought battle, Kelsey Wickstrum, 146, won her pro debut when she defeated Stevie Jane Coleman, 147 pro debut by a majority decision. The bout was schedule for six rounds. Final judges scores were 57-57, 58-56, and 58-56.

In the opening bout, Melissa St. Vil, 133, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Olivia Gerula, 133¼. Final judges scores were 78-74, 78-74, 80-72.

In the only men’s bout on the card, welterweight Tyler Tomlin, 143, won by a third round RTD over Tyrone Luckey, 142 ¼.
