History First: Three Boxing Sisters fight on the same card in Argentina
by Sue TL Fox

(DEC 9) In one of the most unique stories of 2020, came last weekend when we had "All in the Family" three boxing sisters on the same card.  It happened on Friday, December 4th, at the Asociacion Bomberos Voluntarios de Zavalla, Zavalla, in Santa Fe, Argentina, that featured three boxing sisters on the same boxing card.  What is surprising is this news barely made it on the net about this oddity of three sisters on the same card.

In a world championship on the card, super bantamweight Daniela "La Bonita" Bermudez, 121¼, of Santa Fe, won by a tenth round TKO over Cintia Castillo, 122, of Cordoba, Argentina.

In the ninth round, Castillo went down before the ref stopped the fight in the tenth round.  The two were fighting for the vacant IBF Super bantamweight title. Bermudez improved her record to 29-3-3 (10 KOS), and Castillo fell to 10-8-0 (1KO). Full fight video below of the Bermudez vs. Castillo fight.

This was the second bout that Bermudez fought in 2020, when she had an earlier win on February 28, 2020, at the Olimpico Football Club, Villa Gobernador Galvez, where she stopped Alys Sanchez in the ninth round of a ten round bout. This was the first fight in 2020 for Castillo.

In a second bout of the sisters, flyweight Roxana Bermudez, 110.5, of Santa Fe,  did not fair well as she was stopped 1:40 seconds by TKO in the fifth round by opponent Gabriela "La Chucky" Alaniz, 110.5, of Buenos Aires.

The fight was scheduled for eight rounds, and her corner threw in the white towel to discontinue the fight.  Roxana began boxing in 2018, and came into the fight with five pro bouts. This was Roxana's first fight in 2020.  Roxana is now 2-2-2 (0KO).

Alaniz, remains undefeated with an 8-0-0 (2KO) after her successful stoppage of Roxana.   Alaniz also began her professional career in 2018, and fought twice in 2020.   Full Video below of Roxana Bermudez vs. Alaniz.

In the third female bout featuring a Bermudez sister, and in flyweight six rounder, Evelyn "La Princesita" Bermudez, 110, of Santa Fe, won a six-round unanimous decision over Aixa Adema, 111, of La Pampa, Argentina.  This was Adema's second fight in 2020, having two losses, against tough competition.  Her record is now 3-5-4 (2KO).  Evelyn fought only once in 2020, and is still undefeated with a 13-0-1 (3KO).  Full Video below of Evelyn Bermudez vs. Adema.

In the sport we do not see this often where three siblings are on the same card---and it is definitely a cool story to see this happen in 2020!
