(AUG 10) Christy Martin
Promotions and Payne Boxing Series have an evening of explosive
boxing action lined up for this Saturday, August 15 at the Ocean
Center in Daytona Beach. Fight night is still just a few days
away but the fighters from the two title matches are already
promising fireworks!
Alberto Pamletta vs Tre'Sean
Wiggins, WBA International Welterweight Title
Alberto Palmetta: To fight for the WBA title means a lot to me.
I traveled to the United States to follow my dream of becoming a
world champion and be the best boxer I can be. This will be a
big step in my career. I'm focused and ready to face any
challenger because I believe in my work. Names don't matter to
me, for my only matter is to achieve my goal and go for it.
Thanks to the WBA and Gardner Payne for this opportunity.
Tre'Sean Wiggins: I'm excited to get back in the ring and I'm
greatful for the opportunity to fight for the vacant WBA
International title. I'm training harder than ever, as if there
is no tomorrow for me. I've taken the road less traveled, I
haven't been handed anything, I've never been spoon fed. I've
been tested, and I'm a road warrior. I'll fight anyone, any
where, any time. I'm built tough, I'm made for this. After I
beat Alberto Palmetta, the WBA will recognize that they have a
future world champion on their hands.
Cleotis Pendarvis vs Francisco Torres, WBA Fedelatin Super
Welterweight Title
Cleotis Pendarvis: I have been wrote off as a fighter. I have
recently lost my mom and grandmother, I took fights just to
fight. Now I am refocused and see this as a chance of a lifetime
to resurrect Celotis Pendarvis. I'm coming for war. I have to
feed my family, and putting this WBA belt around my waist is
only the appetizer. I believe the best man wins and I will be
the best man on August 15 in Daytona Beach. I ask that God
protect both Torres and myself as we battle for this WBA title.
