Olivia Gerula Ready for Action in the Ring in 2020!
by Sue TL Fox
February 22, 2020

(FEB 22)   Olivia "The Predator" Gerula, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada,  one of the fearless female boxers in the sport that has fought since 1997---and has fought anywhere and anyone, taking on any "comers" that dared to step in the ring with her--is ready to step back into the ring after a "glitch" kept her from the ring since her last fight in March of 2018.

Gerula told WBAN that it all began in Denmark last year, when she said it had rocked her boxing career and flipped her life upside down.  But this all changed on Thursday of this week, when she received great news that changed all of that which had caused a slight nightmare for her being able to get back into the ring.

Gerula, explained about the dilemma that happened last year....

"They flagged an MRI that had been done on me in Denmark, and apparently they spotted something that ended up having them not letting me fight until I was able to do a follow-up with a doctor.  My fight was cancelled, and was told by them that my career was done. I was devastated to put it lightly."

Gerula said, "upon returning back to Canada I had to wait eight weeks for them to send me my results, then another eight weeks for the next MRI. That one was done in January 2020 and it clearly showed that there was no damage of any kind."

Gerula had another MRI on February 17th that included the "seizure protocol" which was more similar to the Denmark test, and she said that the results cleared her.  Gerula said added:  "Zero damage. Big, beautiful, healthy brain!"

Even though Gerula felt robbed of the time to clear this "glitch" up and disliked the possibility of damage to her boxing career----there was definitely a light at the end of the tunnel.

So the GOOD NEWS is that Gerula is ready to step in the ring and continue her long-time boxing career.

Lastly, Gerula reflected about her long-time boxing career, "I want to retire on my own terms, with my head high and perhaps one or two more championship titles. I'm prepared to dedicate one last year to my boxing career.   I am going to eat, sleep, and breathe boxing! Only then will I be satisfied letting it go."
