(JULY 7) Austria-based German Nicole Wesner retained the World Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens World Lightweight title for the fifth time on Saturday night, July 6, in the main event of a show at Gym 23 in her adopted home-town of Vienna.

Dedicating the fight to recently departed administrators Olaf Schroeder (WBF) and Jurgen Lutz (WIBF), Wesner scored a unanimous decision over Pasa Malagic from Bosnia & Herzegovina, controlling the action most of the way.

After ten rounds of action, judges Dominic Kuhaupt, Ralph Koch and Baron Gottwald scored the fight 96-93, 98-91 and 97-92 respectively.

Wesner (41), who made her professional debut very late at 35 in 2012, appears to be on top of her game as she improved her unblemished record to 16-0 (7). 24-year-old Malagic, who entered the paid ranks two weeks after Wesner at 18, drops to 12-6 (3).

In the evenings co-feature, Prisca Vicot, from France but fighting out of Leipzig in Germany, captured the Interim World Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens World Light Welterweight title, out-scoring Ukrainian Olena Medvedenko.

Judges Ralph Koch and Baron Gottwald both scored it 98-92, while judge Bulcsu Gabris had it 97-93, all for Vicot who takes her professional ledger to 11-6 (2). Medvedenko is now 6-6 (2).
