(MAR 17) For the first time in almost six years big time Professional Boxing will be back in the city of Jacksonville, Florida. Christy Martin Promotions (CMP) headed by former WBC Women’s Champion Christy Salters Martin is bringing the best talent from the around the globe to the Maxwell Snyder Armory for her first event in Florida as a professional promoter on Friday, June 14, 2019.

Christy Salters Martin and her business partner and wife, former Professional Boxer Lisa Holewyne have promoted 12 incredibly successful boxing events in Durham and Charlotte, NC since 2016. Most recently CMP promoted a sold out, standing room only show in Charlotte, NC featuring 11 big fights on February 23, 2019 that featured undefeated prospects Richard “Popeye” Rivera (9-0) Kelvin King (4-0-1) and Curtis “Hard Knocks” Johnson (10-0) who thrilled the packed house with big time professional boxing skills.

Salters Martin’s triumphant return to the State of Florida where she lived and trained for almost all of her professional career will be the first professional event CMP has promoted in the “River City”- Jacksonville, Florida. Salters Martin says she plans to promote more events here in the historic and great “River City” and wants to get back to her roots here in the Sunshine State of Florida where in the late 2000’s, Salters Martin promoted many highly successful amateur boxing shows giving rise to stars like Ericson Lubin, Keith Thurman, Roland Bryant and Sebastian Fundora.

Christy Martin made a splash on the world wide sports stage in the 1990’s when she signed a lucrative boxing contract with World Famous Boxing Impresario Don King. Nick-named the Coal Miner’s Daughter because of her West Virginia roots, Christy quickly impressed Don King with her gutsy and exciting style. By 1997 King had featured Christy on the televised pay per view undercards of 4 of the 6 biggest pay per view events of all time. They included: Tyson vs. Bruno, Tyson vs. Seldon, Tyson vs. Holyfield I and at the time, the biggest pay per view event ever: Tyson vs. Holyfield II, an event that grossed more than 180 Million Dollars, was shown in 112 countries around the world and in the United States garnered an unheard of 1.99 million pay per view buys securing Christy Martin as a bona fide superstar.

Christy went on to become the only female boxer to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated and staked her claim as the quintessential blood and guts brawler with KO power unrivaled to this day. In the past five years Salters Martin has celebrated induction into the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame, the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame as well as the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame.

In 2010 Salters Martin became a survivor of domestic violence in her own home in Apopka, Florida after she was assaulted by her then husband. Since then, Salters Martin has become a huge advocate for domestic violence survivors and dedicates each of her promotions to various organizations including Turning Point, Ester House and her own not for profit organization called “Christy’s Champs.”

In 2018 it was announced that a major Motion Picture titled: Christy Martin will go into production in 2019 about the life of the former boxer now promoter.

Tickets will go on sale for the June 14, 2019 Boxing Event Titled: Christy Martin’s Fight Night on Friday March 22, 2019 and can be purchased on ChristyMartinPromotions.com, LDLTV.com  and EventBrite.com (Search: Christy Martin). Doors open at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Maxwell Snyder Armory 9900 Normandy Blvd Jacksonville, Fl. The event will be sanctioned by the Florida State Boxing Commission.

The entire event is being broadcast live worldwide on Youtube, Ustream and Facebook Live and will be produced by LDLTV. Ringside commentary on the broadcast will be hosted by former unified lightweight world champion (WBO, WBA and IBF), Florida Boxing Hall of Famer and Jacksonville native son Nate “The Galaxxy Warrior” Campbell and by screen and play actor, local restaurateur (St Simons Island), NJ Boxing Hall of Famer, former boxer and Guinness Book of World Records Holder for the longest comeback ever by a Professional fighter (set right here in Duval County on April 13, 2013) Sal “Rocky” Cenicola. Worldwide viewers can watch the stream live on ChristyMartinPromotions.com  and on LDLTV.com as well as YouTube, Ustream and Facebook Live.
