Closing 2019 Out with Two Female Bouts in Japan!

(JAN 1, 2020) Last night on New Year's Eve, there was a live boxing card that took place at the Ota-City General Gymnasium, in Tokyo, Japan, there were two female bouts featured on this card.

In one bout, super flyweight Miyo Yoshida, 114¾, of Tokyo, Japan, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Li Ping Shi, 112¼, with Miyo winning  a ten-round unanimous decision. Shi was defending her WBO Super Flyweight title. Final judges scores were 99-90, 97-92, and 98-91. 

Yoshida had won the WBO Super Flyweight title in June of 2019, when she defeated Casey Morton by a ten round unanimous decision.  Yoshida fought three times in 2019, and she improved her boxing record to 14-1-0 (0KO).

In a second female bout on the card, flyweight southpaw Yume Hirayama, 111½, of Fukuoka, Japan, continues to be undefeated bringing her record to 5-0-0 (0KO),  after defeating Marina Sayama, 111¾, of Tokyo, Japan.  The two were fighting a six rounder for the vacant Japanese Flyweight Title, with judges scoring the bout, 55-59 on all cards. 

Hirayama fought two times in 2019, two times in 2018, and one time in 2017 when she made her pro debut, fighting Marina Sayama for the the first time, winning by a four-round unanimous decision.  Sayama has also been fighting professional since 2017 and has now accumulated a boxing record of 4-2-1 (2KO).
