Leona "Downtown" Brown inducted in the Ring 44 Buffalo Boxing Hall of Fame Class of 2018

(SEPT 18)  WBAN would like to congratulate Leona "Downtown" Brown, retired IWBF and IFBA World Super Bantamweight champion, and WIBC Bantamweight champion, who is in the 2018 Buffalo Veteran Boxers Association Ring 44 2018 Buffalo Boxing Hall of Fame inductees.

In addition to Leona Brown, the Buffalo Veteran Boxers Association Ring 44 announced its hall of fame class of 2018, that include Pat Cuillo, Charlie Ferraro, Gene Tortorice, Charley Sacco and Dean Eoannou.

At the event, they have Special guest  former cruiserweight champion Dwight Muhammad Qawi. The 22th Annual Award Banquet takes place at Ilio DiPaolo’s Restaurant, 3785 South Park Ave., Buffalo, NY 14219 on Friday, October 5, 2018.
About Leona Brown: 

Dynamic 4'11" "Downtown" Leona Brown was born in Buffalo, New York and fought out of Pawling, New York. Leona quickly achieved prominence as a professional boxer.  

Leona was a relentless infighter and body puncher and she took the women's 119 lb title at the 70th New York Golden Gloves tournament with a win over Nancy Brody of the Julio Rivera Boxing Club.

In 1997 she turned pro and fought until 2006.  More on her WBAN Biography.
